All my life I have been fascinated by and admired the beauty of the Greyhound and had a strong desire to own one. However, when opportunities arose, circumstances did not allow this to materialise.
My friend, Deryl Barlow-Wielbach who had Greyhounds, including a beautiful imported dog from Baldrey Kennels in England, asked me to co-own and import a bitch pup from Windspiel Kennels in England. The pup to be part of our family and shown by myself. Fortunately we were at last able to say "YES" - and so, in May 1998 my dream came true when Windspiel Northern Salino (Kate) arrived in South Africa and came to live with us.
Together with the Whippets our two Greyhounds give us wonderful moments of sheer pleasure just having them around. |
