If you are a beginner, you might not get it some days because they don't do much explaining in English, but you can at least hear the word of the day and read its English counterpart (if it is hard to hear, turn up your volume and unplug your subwoofer for the moment). Try to read the rest; and in the following lesson, read whatever English is there and try to get a fund of words started. I will try to write a page about how I got started to learn Spanish on my own a few years ago. The proof of how well my method works is that now I can converse or enjoy Spanish television or read books and newspapers, all without having had any Spanish in school. I will not try to tell you that I speak fluently or understand everything that is said to me, but then I have never lived in a Spanish-speaking country, either. I live in Florida, which is becoming bilingual (if only very slowly due to the presence here of a great number of imbeciles and Republicans and rednecks). Some of us Anglos are not morons, and are meeting the Hispanics halfway and making them welcome. Let me say it loudly, just so somebody does. WELCOME HISPANICS !
Okay, let's learn some Spanish.
