CLUB MEETING TO DISCUSS JUNE 9. COME PEOPLES

June 2, 2006
The LAST club day of the school year was yesterday, June 2nd! Hmm we planned on giving out airheads to get people to sign our petitions, but we gave a majority of the airheads to all the 8th graders who came for their hs orientation. Apparently we did not have enough for the actual club day during lunch, but i think we still got a pretty good handful of signatures. We petitioned for the child soldiers in UGANDA who get kidnapped from their homes at the age of 10 to be forced to do strenuous labor and kill other people. How scary. Well, yeah. Hubbard's performance of WUSHU was hilarious. No relevance to Amnesty, but still. =)

Multicultural Festival. Last year, we did Sudan. This year, our country is NEPAL. So, come show some support during lunchtime by bringing in some Nepali food, by wearing some Nepali clothing, or just by providing whatever it is that is related to Nepal =)

Try to come to Ms. Graciano's room during lunch for this entire week ( minus Wednesday) to watch HOTEL RWANDA, a movie which explores the depth of racism and genocide. It won a couple of Oscars, so it's pretty good.
