Nataliya and Seth's Las Vegas Vacation

<= BACK Sunday, November 17, 2002 NEXT =>

Later that morning, we had some difficulty deciding where to go for brunch. Nataliya was interested in finding a champagne brunch. We ended up deciding on going to "Le Buffet" in Paris Las Vegas. I felt that think this was the best buffet we'd had on our trip! We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal!

We stopped by The Bellagio to pick up our tickets for tonight's show: "O" - Cirque Du Soleil.

Mine! All mine! We dropped Ty & Jen off and went on our own to Circus Circus. Finding parking in this place was much more difficult than I thought it would be, but after we finally found the correct parking lot, we went inside. I won a few stuffed animals for Nataliya which she insisted on bringing them all home! I guess it's my fault for winning them, but I didn't expect to win! Anyway, we also saw some Russian circus performers and played several games before heading back to the hotel. Once back at the hotel, we took a nap.

We then went to see "O" - Cirque Du Soleil. It's hard to describe the sort of show this is. It's not a circus and it's not quite theatre. It's a physically demanding show on the entertainers but they make the movements seem almost effortless. It's visually spectacular and this particular show of Cirque Du Soleil was performed in, on, and over a 500,000 gallon tank of water.

Now, what is the show about, you might ask. Well, according to their web site, this show is:

Cirque Du So-oh-oh-oh-leil
"inspired by the concept of infinity and by the pure form of the letter "O", the title of this production is also a phonetic representation of the French word for water, the element embodied by this show. With an international cast performing in, on and above water, Cirque du Soleil's "O" tells the tale of theatre through the ages and frees us to lose ourselves in a world without limits.".
Fun with edible body paint at the O(rgy) show!

Now, come on... none of us got that out of the show. I don't know - that sort of description sounds like some sort of hippie crap. Not that I have anything against hippies, but come on... when you're talking about "freeing us to lose outselves in a world without limits"... you know someone was smoking something when they wrote that up!

In any case, we all enjoyed the show. All the Cirque Du Soleil shows are amazing.

We dropped Nataliya and Jen off at the hotel and I went with Ty downtown to see if there was any late action. We stopped off along the way to try out a "Carl's Jr." burger. It was good, but not good enough to go back to.

Most of the casinos seemed to be closed, but we hung out and gambled some more. By 3 AM, we were both pretty tired so we left and went back to the hotel. We both had to get up early because neither of us had packed for our flights home tomorrow.
