Major Changes
Steering Swap
Early model worm and peg, to later recirculating ball style. This turned out to be a fairly easy task, but only for the high windshield model as the steering colums are the same. You only need to change the lower half of the steering shaft, which can be removed while the column is still in the car. (for low windshield models, this will not help.
I have the entire steering assembly including column from a 70 that is going into my 68.
Volvo Brake Conversion
My brake calipers were all pretty much shot. Went with the Volvo instead of rebuilding the stock ones.
Carb Swap
New (refurbished) carbs are on and tuned. It makes a big difference.
Electronic Ignition Conversion
bought a Gary Boone EI conversion. I am very impressed with product. Very easy to follow instructions and a complete part listing.
