Try the computeractive link, if you have computer related problems, click on "Readers to the rescue", to search for you answers, you can even post your own problem, and see what replies you get, it's very helpful.
OK here we go....... I'm 49, live in Greater Manchester, in the UK, and am happily married for the 2nd time with 5 children, ranging from 29 yrs - 6 yrs, (yes I do have a TV) honest!!!, my interests are golf (when I get the chance) surfing the web, photography, formula 1 racing and music, I've been interested in music for quite some time now, as I used to be in a band called Streamline, we played mainly in the Manchester area, but had a once in a lifetime opportunity to go to San Francisco, in the Easter of 1981. we played support band to a US group called Uncle Rainbow, in Redwood City, and Santa Cruz, the experience was amazing, shortly after we came back, we entered a competition run by Piccadilly Radio (now KEY103) which was held at Romeo and Juliet's night club in Oldham (lancs) and came a mighty third, to a band called Tight-fit from Huddersfield, not bad considering there were hundreds of entries.
The band members were :-
Lead vocals and rhythm guitar...... Garry Parker
Lead guitar and backing vocals..... Paul O'Hara
Bass guitar and backing vocals..... Andy Rourke
Percussion and backing vocals..... (myself) Steve Meakin
If you remember seeing us play anywhere, or bought one of our tapes, get in touch, it would be great to hear your comments.
Andy, Paul, if you read this, drop me a line, it would be great to hear from you, and reminis about the old days of the band, you can contact me below.
Cool sites worth a look at :-
www.zonelabs.com Is the first site I would recommend, it allows personal users to download a firewall, to your internet connection, and prevents hackers from gaining access to your system, the first sign of trouble and it shuts the connection down, best of all, it's free.
www.friendsreunited.co.uk Ever wondered what your old school friends are doing now ??? well wonder no longer, friendsunited bring together old school friends who have registered with the site, and you'll be surprised how many do, I joined it in late december 2001, and have already had emails from 12 school pals, one of which, I recently met up with at my local, and the old school names came flooding back, Alan Miles, Steve Slater, Gladstone Minzie, to name just a few, all now living in different parts of the country. A well thought out site, and free to register, or full registration for only 5.p.a.
www.computeractive.co.uk is a great site if you are having a problem with your system, click on "readers to the rescue" type in your problem, leave it for a few days to give others a chance to read it, and hopefully, somebody will come up with a solution for you. they also produce a great magazine, which I have found invaluable, especially the workshop section.
www.download.com If your like me, and like to have the latest downloads, but dread the length of time most of them take, or even worse, loosing the connection half way through, then this is the site for you. download "DOWNLOAD ACCELERATOR", once done, say you wanted the latest Yahoo messenger application, 4 connections are made to the site your downloading from, when one connection pauses, the next one kicks in, enableing your connection to download quicker, and should your connection drop, it also has a resume facility, so you can continue downloading from where you left off, without starting from the beginning again. Well worth a try.
Well, thats it for now, I will of course be updating my site periodicaly, hope you liked it. Why not sign my guestbook and leave your comments, genuine messages please, I would appreciate it, click the link below.
