Biography
Sara-Lou Klein McKlayer lives and creates
in Denver, Colorado. She uses the media of prismacolour pencils on wood
and acrylic paints on free-hanging canvas to explore modern and ancient
worlds.Ms. McKlayers art seeks to address social and political issues,
such as hate, violence, and human rights, while linking todays experiences
with those of the past. She draws inspiration from the Earth and its artifacts;
mythology and ancestry; and memories from childhood.
Ms. McKlayer earned her bachelor of fine arts, with
a minor in womens studies, from Metropolitan State College of Denver.
She has been actively involved with the Colorado Chapter of the Womens
Caucus for Art, serving as Vice President and President. She currently
is studying the art of Botanical Illustration at the Denver Botanic Gardens.
Ms. McKlayer has shown her work nationally and locally since 1987 and
has been a member of EDGE Gallery since 1993.
