| Hello and Welcome to our home... We welcome all guest but please be respectful of the Ladies Of The House. Our goal is not to exclude, but to include African American Women into the fold of realistic weight loss. To often we get caught up with the media and Drs. who try to make us fit on height and weight charts. Most minority women do not. Though it is true that the average American Woman is a size 14, the difference is that minority woman accept they may be a 14, and not a size 5. Women in our culture come in all sizes and shades. When I founded the original club on Yahoo, it was because of my personal need to find a support group that was user friendly, and I think "we" created it. This Web Page is not meant to replace the club but to be a supplement to the women who have struggled and built the club. So grab a cup of coffee, you can leave on your bathrobe and house shoes and enjoy your stay...... You have now entered the Domain of The Nubian Queens..... |
Q: What is the challenge?? A: It is a 4 - 8 week period where we commit to each other, and self, that we will follow our plans and support and motivate each other to lose weight and be healthy. The people wanting to participate in the challenge will be designated to a team. As a team they will be challenged to lose weight, drink more water, and increase their exercise. We will not have to do it alone!!!!! This Challenge will celebrate that period in History where we were being told that we would be set free from slavery, but that it would not happen for 60 days!!! And the day of freedom was on August 8th. Therefore to give us a sense of the time frame in which we were allowed to remain in limbo we will set the CHallenge to cover that time in history when we WERE TOLD WE WERE FREE, but still had not recieved freedom of movement. Q: What do I have to do?? A: First, there is no cost to participating in the Challenge. Second,you are only asked to follow the plan you have chosen to use for weight loss. Therefore you do not have to pick a group plan, buy into a plan, buy any potions or drugs. This is meant to get you started reseaerching and teaching yourself what really works for you. So often we see adds for those quick fix plans, but we hear how they worked for someone on TV but no one we know. This is to help you start researching what works for you. To begin reading information and networking with others. Third, You will only need to come to send your team leader your totals on the following: 1) How many hours that week you worked out. 2) How many cups of water you drank for the week Fourth, Your information needs to be recieved weekly. Between Sunday at 12:00 A.M. and Saturday at Midnight. The totals will be placed on a grid and the teams can see how they are doing.
