this was a last ditch attempt at loosing all of the wheel hop gained from the head swap.
First remove the stock control arms...
this is a bitch to do.
clean up welding surfaces
cut heavy gauge plate steel to size
(you do what you think is best)
if you want to retain the use of
your sway bar weld the supports into place by inserting the stock bolts
through the holes and tacking them.
then get to welding and use a mask!
I chose not to and got quite the burn on my face and arms.
Note my foot in the picture... those
were my street shoes when this began.
this is how I did mine. the
ends of the arms remain open because I am lazy.
Look! It is my feet again
Next you need to install new polyurethane bushings to reduce deflection. this is best done by a pro unless you have a press handy. I chose to only install them in the lower arms the uppers use factory rubber in the arm and FE3 rubber in the rearend housing.
For reinstallation:
Clean up the bolts while you are
at it
Grease them up thoroughly 'cause
if you are like me they come out quite often.
Paint and put arms back into place
tada! no more wheel hop.
they ain't pretty but they do work very well. No more wheel hop and 1.9 60 foot times are a great modification in my book.
