Dale Gooding, The Smash Elevens class Wicketkeeper and top order batsman, doing what he normally does, getting naked in public. The only reason Dale plays the game is that cricket is the only game that you can get naked in public nd get away with it.
The History of the Smash
The Smash Eleven started life in 1997, when a young group of special boys, lead by Garry Nisbet had nothing to do over the School Holidays. What started in December was what is now known as the greatest sporting entity ever conceved. The first game was a non event, the opposition didnt turn up, but that didnt stop a determind Garry from calling it quits after the first game, for three months the Smash Eleven played a mixture of in-house and the Indian 'Clippers'. Matches against the clippers were always one sided until the last game of the season when the Smash with Garry and Andrew Roberts guided the team to victory, which is an occasion the boys in that first game havent forgot.
After Garry joined the Army in 1998, the Smash had a down period while their leader was away. A loss to the Clippers on the Boxing Day One-Dayers in 1998 and 1999 were nothing unusual, it wasnt until March 2000 when the Smash recorded their second win, beating a crap team put togeather by Emerey's old man in Northcote.
2001/02 season saw a re-born Smash Eleven return onto the scene. Garry returned to Auckland, and now most Sundays the Smash Eleven are out competing around Aucklands North Shore for worlds cricketing supremacey. With Garry's return, the Smash doubled there winning record within the first 2 games and have posted some impressive wins over the last season. The 2002/03 season has started promising also and only time will tell how these seasond warriors will preform over the next 5 months.
