Well this page is supposed to tell you, even thoug you already know what a baritone is, but this page will solve the ever perplexing question, what is the difference between the superior Euphonium and the almighty Bartione. WHAT is the diff you say? Well a euph generally has 4 valves and an upright bell (such as the one I have in the picture below. Baritones have 3 valves and a bent bell.
NS-FAQ (not so frequently asked questions) Person: So, what model and maker of baritone/euphonium do you use? Me: Well person, I use a Yamaha YEP321. It is a 4-valved concert euphonium which I use for both marching and concert season. Person: What brand and model of mothpiece do you use? Me: I use a Vincent Bach 5G. Person: Do you own or rent? Me: I rent from the school, I'm sure most schoold with bands rent out instruments (around here it is $50. a year). Even though I have a trumpet of my own, I still dont have a euph or bari. In fact, a bari/euph of my own is the only thing that I really want at this time. Person: How long have you been playing euph/bari? Me: 4 1/2 years. The entire history of the bari/euph coming soon after my research is totally finished. Ok, I am kinda lazy here and that's pretty much why this page is just filler crap. Gotta forgive me. Ok? |
