Leftovers
How many times have you put leftovers in the refrigerator, in air tight tupperware containers with every intention of eating them at a later time, but instead forgot about them. When you discovered them again, the leftovers had evolved into another species. Here are some tips that might help you to use those leftovers before evolution begins.

Attach a note pad with a magnetic backing to your refrigerator. On it write down the leftovers and the date as you place them in the refrigerator. By doing this, what you have in the refrigerator is in plain sight, you aren't as likely to forget about them.
Place easy peel off labels on your tupperware as you put it in the refrigerator.
Use a plastic box or container of some sort in your refrigerator. In it place only those tupperware containers that contain leftovers. This way you will see your leftovers add up.
Plan ahead. Try to keep in mind your leftovers when planning meals. If you know that you will have leftover mashed potatoes, plan on making Potato Croquettes or Shepherd's Pie, in order to use up those mashed potatoes.

Bread Crumbs
Use instead- crushed tortilla chips, crushed crackers, bran or corn flakes, plain potato chips.

Bread
Put the ends of your loaves in a plastic bag and store in the freezer. Use as needed for such things as garlic toast, toast or use fresh for bread crumbs, french toast, use in stuffing, or use them to make your own croutons.

MAKE YOUR OWN BREAD CRUMBS

When you have an abundance of bread ends in the freezer, take them out and place each bread end on a cookie sheet and place under the broiler at about 400 degrees.
Turn to make sure both sides are crisp.
Place the crispy bread pieces in a food processor or blender and process until you get crumbs.
You can use a combination of seasonings such as thyme, lemon pepper, pepper, Italian seasoning, oregano, garlic salt to add to the bread crumbs if you prefer them seasoned.

Macaroni and Cheese Rejuvenated

If you have leftover homemade macaroni and cheese but you really don' t feel like eating it or serving it again for supper, try this. Combine pizza sauce, parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, some chopped pepperoni, and garlic. Mix this together then mix it into your cold macaroni and cheese. Just re heat it in the oven until it is hot. Your family will love the change!

Leftover Bagels

If you have bagels that are going stale, put them in the freezer.

Make your own bagel chips by slicing the thawed bagels into thin slices. Place them on a baking sheet, making sure not to over lap them. You can season them first by brushing the slices with olive oil, you can also sprinkle them with your favorite herbs or herb mixtures. Be inventive!!

The other thing you can do with bagels that you froze is to use them to make Pizza bagels. Toast the thawed bagels then spread with pizza sauce and your favorite toppings. You can cook them in the oven for a few minutes or you can just cook in the microwave for 1 1/2 minutes.
