Cooking Methods
Saute - Cook food quickly in a skillet or frying pan. When youn saute something you
             use a minimal amount of oil. This is very popular for those people watching
             their weight.


Broil-    Cooking food directly under or above the heat source.

Baking-  Cooking food in an oven surrounded by dry heat.

Grill-  Cooking food over hot coals, BBQ

Blackened- A cooking technique that originated in New Orleans.
                   Meat or fish is rubbed with a Cajun spice mixture then cooked in a very   
                   hot cast iron skillet until it is very crispy.

Deglaze- This is a method of making sauce from meat that has been sauteed. The meat is removed, then a
                 little bit of wine or stock is added to the pan. This liquid is stirred often to loosen what may have
                 left in the bottom of the pan.

Cut-In- With two knives, or a pastry blender, you mix butter or shortening with a dry ingredient such as flour,
