MHR301 -
Principles of management - is a course with Dr. Carol
L. Jones at Cal Poly Pomona University that presents a thorough and systematic
coverage of management theory and practice. It will focus on the basic
roles, skills and functions of management, with special attention to managerial
responsibility for effective and efficient achievement of goals. Special
attention will be given to social responsibility, managerial ethics, and
the importance of multi-national organization.
Upon completion of the course, students are expected to be able to: (1)
understand fundamental concepts and principles of management, including
the basic roles, skills, and functions of management; (2) be knowledgeable
of historical development, theoretical aspects and practice application
of managerial process; (3) be familiar with interactions between the environment,
technology, human resources, and organizations in order to achieve high
performance; (4) be aware of the ethical dilemmas faced by managers and
the social responsibilities of businesses.
There will be a team project and our project is on Target Corporation.
Our team elected to conduct research and report about Social Responsibility
and Quality of Management. Each team member took responsibility for reviewing
the final report prior to
presentation. Our efforts
are evident with this final document and represent how working
efficiently and effectively
can produce a quality product.
