The WB's Description - CLARK AND LOIS INVESTIGATE CHLOES MURDER Clark (Tom Welling) and Lois Lane (Erica Durance) investigate Chloes (Allison Mack) apparent murder, but are stopped by an army officer, General Sam Lane (guest star Michael Ironside), who turns out to be Lois father. Lois suspects that Sam knows more about Chloes death than he will admit, and Clark discovers that Sam has recently been in contact with Lex (Michael Rosembaum). Jason (Jensen Ackles) arrives from Paris and convinces Lana (Kristin Kreuk) to continue their relationship. Suspecting that Chloe is still alive, Lionel (John Glover) sends an assassin with the power to morph his limbs into metallic weapons to keep Chloe from testifying against him. John Schneider and Annette OToole also star. James Marshall directed the episode written by Brian Peterson & Kelly Souders.

We meet with Lois father, General Sam Lane. There are father-daughter frictions.

Being the nice people they are, the Kent's invite General Sam Lane to their house for dinner. During the start of ACT II, we see Sam escorting his daughter up the Kents house and have a brief discussion about her staying away from a crime scene.

He calls her daughter "Little Lo."

Meanwhile, while Martha is cooking dinner, Clark seems to not like the idea of General Lane coming over to dinner. Jonathan replies, "Clark, Sam Lane is a four-star general. We own him a little respect." As Clark was about to protest, Sam and Lois enters the house. Sam pulls a cigar from his pocket and breaks a smile. Clark makes a snide remark to Sam, "You dont seem to have a problem dropping your helicopter anyplace you want." Lois shoots Clark an impressed look.

Sam offers Jonathan a Chavelo cigar, but Jonathan refuses it when he takes note of Marthas warning glaze and says his heart is not what it uses to be.

Sam also makes a remark to Lois regarding an incident in ballet camp. Clark is amused of this fact and Lois says, "I wasnt your typical sugar-plumb fairy."

As Lois was about to leave with his father, she surprises Clark with a hug and whispers to him, "This is all about Chloe. I know my dad is hiding something."

Clark and Lois break into Sams temporary office at Fort Ryan and were caught! The General says, "I know my daughter has a tendency to be a bad influence. You just tell me what you two are doing in my files and Ill get you back to that cozy farm of yours. Otherwise youre going to wish youd never stepped foot on my base."

Lois begins to cry and rant in front of her father saying that is why she has no friends. It is because he is always being a general. This is all an act. She did it so her father would soften up and leave to get her water. Clark falls for it and is all sympathic and says "It's going to be okay." Lois then says "You're such a sucker, Kent." She then continues searching for files.

At Luthorcorp, Lex is studying a 3-D Grid graphic of his jet wreckage in "Crusade". The graphic shows the jet door tearing off while flying and the plane diving.

Lex is also keeping the remains of the jet in a Hangar. Clark visits the Hangar while Lex isn't there. The jet's fuselage is dented, a door is missing because it was ripped off. Clark is "rattled at seeing the violent result of his powers." Direct quote from the sides, "It was Lex's plane he robbed!"

Lex apparently receiving dialysis and the nurse that is visiting him at his Luthor Corp Office is not happy about him being late. As she exited the office, he passed Clark on his way in.

Clark and Lois share a bonding moment when Clark sees a photo of Lois at 2 yrs old with her mom and dad. Her mom died when she was 6 years old, seems like from smoking. Clark touches her hand. She waits a moment then pulls away.

Lex is at the Luthor mansion during the day pouring red wine and other contents of his liquor cart down a sink drain. He turns around and is shocked to see LANA there. That's it! Dont know what happens next, since its like 1/2 through the script. At least we know Lana is back in Smallville.

Lionel is showering at Metropolis Men's Central, someone (a tattooed convict) wraps an arm around Lionel's neck and tries to strangle him. Lionel struggles and tries to fight back by punching the dude in the stomach. The man then pulls out a knife and stabs Lionel deep in the side. He then drops on the tiled floor.

As Lionel is recovering in the infirmary, we are introduced to a Trent McGowan. They discuss that Lex led him to "her." Our guess is Chloe because he later says, "Either you ante up (he was asking the price be doubled) or Lex and the star of your little show will testify tomorrow. Lionel then replies, "Make sure her silence is permanent this time."

In ACT IV, we see a guard telling Chloe that she has a visitor.
