| The Artist & Method ...Iranian born, French nationality, now holds Australian citizenship...This is Cyrus Roussilhes. Having travelled around the world as the son of a French diplomat, Cyrus has gained much insight under the influences of multi-culturalism. He has travelled to 16 countries and lived in Iran, Pakistan and Cameroon. Now residing in Western Australia with his family he is launching himself as a young emerging creative artist. The strengths in his style of work are composition, natural lighting, and reduced color tonality (and of course a talent for breaking all the rules!). These techniques result in classical themes and ageless scenes. After the photo is enhanced digitally it is printed on professional Kodak paper and painted over with acrylics and impasto gel. Often leaving out detail in the image helps the viewer's imagination paint a more complete and personalised image, helping one "connect" with the work. What is not shown helps make a more powerful statement. The desire for experimentation and having a good artistic eye are all important factors to consider. The camera used is a Sony Digital Mavica FD73 Still Camera. It takes hours to take 200 pictures only to find 2 or 3 that turn out to be satisfactory. A good photographer is often a patient and persistent photographer. Latest Achievements Exhibition Venue (May and June 2001) Works available at these Venues |
