A minimum budget business website
So how much is minimum?
Well, a typical price for a small business
website on a
minimal budget would be less than $50 cash but quite a few
hours of hard work. Building a website for your small
business should not be a rush job. If it's urgent and price
is an issue then check out the small budget
page
First: Get a domain name
Choosing a domain name should not be hard. Just follow a few
simple rules:
- Avoid long or difficult names
- Choose something that makes sense
- Shop around
Next: Find a home for your website
Again, take your time and shop around. Finding a good home
for your website is very important. When choosing a host
consider the following points:
- Disk space:
Most small businesses will be fine with 25MB
- Proximity:
Find a local company, they'll be easier to deal
with if problems arise.
- Support:
What do they offer? 24hr, just business hours or what? Find
out, it may be very important one day.
- Are they well established?
If they don't have a nice long list of verifiable customers
for you to look at don't bother.
- Features:
As an absolute minimum you'll want them to provide:
but the more features the better, especially if they provide
free support on those features as they should.
