Since the WIRTGEN Surface Miner cuts, crushes and loads the material in one operation with one machine; this was the ideal machine for these operations:
- Blasting could be eliminated
- The directly crushed material could be used directly as backfill material without any preparation.
Well-defined steep and stable slopes and surfaces have been cut.
The main road from Triest to Ljubljana is to be widened by one lane. Traffic on the existing road must not be disrupted. Road side and top surface must be finished with precision. The loosened, crushed rock is to be produced for immediate use in dam construction works.
To fullfill this requirement a WIRTGEN Surface Miner was introduced.
The 2600 SM cuts, crushes and loads the material in one operation. It cut a smooth, precisely defined road side slope and surface.
