What is a 'Virtual Assistant'?

A Virtual Assistant of 'VA' is a suitably qualified person with secretarial and administration experience. In the business world, VA's are actually secretaries or administration service officers. The only difference is with VA's is that we work from our own home-based office working via the internet, email, facsimile and telephone.

A VA does not cost the business employer overheads like, taxes, insurance, sick leave, vacation leave, compensation or any other costs involved with employing full-time or part-time staff. Further, VA's use their own office equipment and this is also at a benefit to the client, as not all clients tend to have all the software or computer technology that VA's generally have as part of their office set-up.

VA's can work effectively and efficiently using online methods of performing tasks for clients. Many successful businesses now use these services that VA's provide as a means of reducing their overheads, but without reducing quality of service.

VA's are responsible for their own end of year taxes, and associated costs. Therefore, clients only pay for the time it takes a VA to complete the required tasks that are undertaken.

By using a VA for your business support services and functions, you benefit by gaining control over your time delegating tasks you don't have time to do, or don't know how to do.
