Author's Note: I think Snape's been getting the wrong end of the stick in the little bit of HP fan fiction I've been reading. He's the bad guy you have to root for, because he's not all bad, he's just written that way. *grin* So how do you write a bad guy gone good? Thought I'd give it a try. The prologue is journal form to summarize Snape's thoughts up to Harry's first appearance at Hogwart's. Normal prose begins in Part One.
