*AJ’s View*
So here I am standing in my room in a towel trying to decide what I should wear today. I mean, I’ve been working up the nerve to ask Rachel out. I’ve decided that today is gonna be the day. Man am I nervous as hell. I’ve never sat for an hour trying to figure out what I want to wear maybe half an hour but not an hour and for some girl. But this isn’t just any girl this is Rachel. I’ve wondered for so long if we could get back together but I never knew where she was. And now that I know she lives and I’ve seen her everyday since I followed Mary home it’s almost too good to be true. What if she says no? Usually I’m so confident of myself but not this time.
“AJ! Are you almost ready…we’ve been waiting an hour,” Howie called from downstairs.
“I need more time dude!” I really didn’t know what to wear my mind was blank. That usually doesn’t happen. “Hey D, do you think you can come up here and give me some help?” Howie would know what I should wear or he’ll just get frustrated with me and pick an outfit for me.
“Yeah.” He walked up the stairs and didn’t look too happy. I kept him from seeing So’Cy I guess. “What do you need help with?” He sounded so enthused.
“What should I wear?” I could tell that Howie knew that I was nervous so he just endured the state I was in.
“How about that one long sleeve white shirt that Rachel likes so much. And let’s see,” Howie was going through my closest. What a great friend he is. He pulled out a pair of jeans, “these jeans.”
“Looks good to me. We just add a wife beater under the shirt a necklace and a…” I paused. Should I wear sunglasses or a hat?
“Go for the sunglasses AJ” Howie read my mind. He knew what I was thinking about. Like I said he’s a great friend. “Now get dressed so that we can go and see the girls.”
“What are we gonna do today?” We hadn’t covered that yet.
“I don’t know…we’ll ask them when we get there….if we get there before sun down.” Howie left.
I knew that he was irritated with me. So I got dressed as quickly as possible. When I went downstairs. I found Howie and Nick watching TV bored out of their minds. “Okay guys enough of this sitting around crap let’s go.”
“About time.” Nick said as he got up. Yeah Nick wanted to see Mary. It was obvious that he liked her. I was just hoping Mary like him the same. And I’m sure she did.
*Mary’s View*
Okay Mary if you look in the mirror again nothing will have changed. I’m obsessing over my hair. I just got it perfect and I’m praying that it doesn’t move. And I’ve settled on a white spaghetti strap tank top with a sheer shirt over it with flared khaki pants. It was the first outfit I started out with. But I had to explore my options right? I walked downstairs to find Rachel staring at her belly button piercing. I wish I was more like her. She only took 15 minutes to get dressed. She was wearing her favorite jeans. Her jeans are flared with a hole in the knee. She doesn’t care how they look cause they’re her favorite. She also had on a baby t that was yellow and navy blue. It was a pretty cool shirt. She just got it yesterday and she’ll probably wear it as much as those jeans. But she looked as though she was thinking about something. She had been staring at her belly for 5 minutes or longer…after all I was upstairs getting dressed. I went to the kitchen and got something for us to drink I came back out and she was smiling. “What are you smiling about?” I said as I handed her the drink.
“Uh, oh thanks,” I had obviously interrupted her thoughts. “I was just thinking about one time when me and AJ went to the beach and he was wearing that long sleeve white shirt, which I fell in love with.”
“Ya mean the one that you took from him and wore and took to bed with you cause it smelled like him when he was away?” I knew she loved that shirt so much.
“Yeah that’s the one. He looked so cute that day. Well he looked cute everyday…that was just one of his REALLY good days.” I could tell that she had a picture in her head. I think that her and AJ should get back together. They would be soooo cute. And if they don’t get together soon I’m gonna have to interfere. Nah that’s not me, I’ll talk to Howie or I’ll have someone else do it for me. Just then there was a knock at the door. Rachel jumped up and got the door just has I was about to get up. “Dang Rachel, aren’t you the eager one.”
“Yeah well ya know. Hey.” She opened the door and her mouth dropped. “Wow.” There was AJ standing in the doorway with that white shirt that we had just got done talking about.
“Hey guys, come on in,” I said. I couldn’t just let the guys stand there outside staring into Rachel’s open mouth. I’ll have to admit it though, Rachel was right; AJ does look good in that shirt. I just didn’t let my mouth dropped and start drooling. Okay she wasn’t drooling but she was close.
“Wow? How about hi AJ how are you today.” AJ said jokingly.
“Rach, you can close your mouth now.” Nick said.
“Hey, my mouth wasn’t open.” Rachel hit Nick playfully. Nobody believed her.
“Yeah right Rachel.” I said.
“So where’s So’Cy?” Howie spoke up. Yep, he liked her. Just then So’Cy walked down the stairs. She was in her pjs still and I could tell that she had just woke up. She looked over and saw the guys.
“Hooooowie, hey, I’ll be back in 10.” She was surprised to see him, especially looking like she did. She blotted up the stairs and I heard a door shut. Then I heard the shower start.
“My friends that was So’Cy.” Rachel mentioned.
“Yes, it was.” Howie observed.
“So what do we wanna do today?” AJ asked.
