*Mary’s View*
I held out for as long as I could. So’Cy may be little but she’s strong. I worried that I hurt Nick cause I kinda fell and twisted his neck just slightly. Not enough to kill him or anything just enough to give him a sore neck in the morning. It looks like I may be returning that back rub. “Nick are you okay?”
“Yeah I’m fine.” He said holding his neck.
“You lie.” I said smiling.
“How about another game?” Rachel asked. She always did like this game.
“Let’s do it.” Nick said. I’ll offer him the back rub later. So here we are again playing chicken. But AJ and Rachel got smart. They let So’Cy and me go at it occasionally pushing here and there. It was a good idea. I was having fun. It got my mind off Nick for a little bit. But it was hard since he was right underneath me. But soon Rachel knocked me over and I was right next to him. I surfaced and found Nick looking at me.
“What?” I asked.
“Good job.” He smiled at me.
“Hey, come here.” He walked over to me. “Now turn around.” And he did. I started to massage his shoulders, kinda difficult with him being taller than me. Just then he turned around and picked me up. He placed me on the side of the pool then turned around. I was glad that he did that, it wasn’t such a stretch for me now. AJ and Rachel were doing pretty good. But both of the girls ended up falling at the same time and nobody won that round. I think we were all tired cause we all found a side of the pool to lean on.
“I hear that hot tub calling my name.” Rachel broke the silence. I was with her on that one.
“So let’s go.” AJ said. Everyone jumped out of the pool and walked over to the hot tub. AJ and Howie jumped right into the hot tub and right back out. Silly guys, they should know better. If ya go from a pool to a hot tub ya gotta ease into the hot tub or else you’ll get a shock of heat.
“That’s hot.” Howie said.
“Hence the name ‘hot tub.’” So’Cy said. She was always one with the smart cracks.
“Ya gotta ease into the hot tub guys. I thought you guys would know that.” Rachel said. I saw AJ and Howie look at each other and I didn’t like the idea that I’m pretty sure was forming in their heads. Just then Howie picked up So’Cy and AJ picked up Rachel.
“AJ you better not do what I think your going to do.” Rachel said. Although she was in no position to do anything, neither was So’Cy.
“Oh but I am.” He said has he walked towards the pool. He dropped Rachel in the deep end of the pool. She screamed as she fell.
“She’s a screamer.” I said. Then went So’Cy. “Oh and she’s a flapper.”
“Exactly what is a flapper?” Nick asked.
“When you wave and fling your arms and legs around.” I informed him.
“Well let’s see exactly what you are. A screamer or a flapper.” Even before I could utter a word of protest he had me in the pool with So’Cy and Rachel. “Hey guys.” I said as I surfaced.
“She’s a little of both.” Nick said.
“Thanks for finding out Nicky.” AJ said as he pushed him in.
“Well AJ it looks as though everyone is getting back in the pool.” Howie said.
“Yeah, let’s join them.” AJ said.
“Are ya thinkin’ what I’m thinkin’?” Howie asked with a smile. I had a feeling of what was to come.
“CANNON BALL!” Both of them screamed as they jumped in. After awhile Rachel and So’Cy got cold and went inside to get dressed. AJ and Howie did the same. Not wanting to be the only ones not dressed Nick and me changed as well. I was really happy that Rachel and AJ got back together. They made a cute couple and I know that they both really wanted it.
