Cheating Heart

*Mary’s View*

It’s just like Rachel to suggest something that the guys would really like. But I wouldn’t mind cooking for them anyway. Ya know they are cute. And what wouldn’t ya do for a cute guy, let alone a Backstreet Boy. So all of us girls went into the kitchen and left the guys playing video games. We opened the refrigerator and just stared into it.
“So, um, hey, what do ya want to make?” So’Cy asked. It really was a good question that needed to be answered. So’Cy looked at Rachel since she had suggested making food. I spotted the chicken and it hit me, let’s make chicken.
“I feel like chicken tonight like chicken tonight.” I sang. I thought that they would get a kick out of it.
“Oh no. Now they’re singing.” Nick said jokingly.
“I’m with chicken.” Rachel said not paying attention to Nicky.
“Yeah. So it’s decided, chicken it is.” So’Cy took charge. Something that she always did around the house. I mean she was always the one to push me and Rachel to do something. Not in a bad way or anything, it was all positive.
“How about some music?” Rachel was always the one to put on music. There was like a little radio or CD player in just about every room of the house. But I didn’t mind, I actually like listening to music.
“It’s cool with me.” I said. So’Cy agreed too. She put on a tape that she had recorded a bunch of different songs too. It had ‘Lucky’ by Britney and Creed. It was a wide array of music. And just our luck it started on ‘Lucky’. We started singing and dancing to it.
“Now they’re dancing and singing.” AJ said loud enough for us to hear.
“We’re never gonna get our food.” Howie joked.
The two best friends are starting to crack jokes. It gets real crazy when they start cracking jokes. That’s one thing that I had missed. I missed a lot of things. But for some reason I couldn’t stop thinking about Nicky. I had to talk to Rachel about it. I think I’ll do that later on tonight when they leave. So we starting getting the chicken ready to put in the oven, it was gonna be shake-n-bake my favorite. Rachel had also got some potatoes to fix. Now we got an hour until we eat. Rachel went and chilled on the deck in back. So’Cy went back to the guys to give them an update on the food. And I decided that I would talk to Rachel now. Might as well since we had an hour. “Hey Rach, can I talk to you?” For the past six months that I had been living there I loved talking to her. And I was happy that she was gonna be on tour with me.
“Sure what’s up?” She always said that with a smile.
“Well, I think that I’m falling for Nicky.” I said kind of quiet. I wasn’t sure.
“Do you find yourself thinking about him all the time? And when you think about the little things does it bring a smile to your face?” She asked these questions like she was going through the same thing. She was going through it too, she had fallen for AJ again.
“Yeah.” I blushed, I realized then that I had fallen for him, majorly.
“Congratulations Mary, you have fallen in love.”
“I hope so. What about you and AJ?” I asked. I really did want to know what she felt for him.
“I really do like AJ. I’m kind of scared to go back out with him. What if he’s the same guy that he was when I broke up with him?” She said. She’s lying she really didn’t have to ask that question. She knew the answer to it but maybe she needed to hear it from someone else.
“Rach, AJ has really changed. When I left to come here we had started to talk about you and he was sad at the fact that you guys weren’t together. What did you do after you two broke up.”
“Awww, what did I do? I came back home. I started the trading stocks online thing and in no time I had a lot of money. I bought all this stuff trying to make me happy but nothing worked. And now that AJ is here I’m happy again.” Rachel was smiling ear to ear just thinking about getting back with AJ. Even having him as a friend would make her happy.
“I think that you should get back together with him. He’s changed a lot.” I walked back inside to leave her with her thoughts. I found everyone else in the living room cracking jokes and having a ball. Like I said once jokes start going it takes forever for them to stop. Not that I didn’t mind a good laugh every now and then.
“Where’s Rachel?” AJ asked. He seemed highly interested.
“She’s outside on the deck.” I said. I knew that Rachel liked being outside and that Rose a friend back at Michigan got her hooked on the beach. She had always wanted a beach house and her dream had come true. AJ then got up and walked outside.
