Ninth Week, Second Semester, of Classes / Exam Week: March 14-18

Past Sunday Readings

Monday & Tuesday, March 14 & 15
class: Individual and group work in preparation for the exam.
homework: Study 15-20 each evening for the exam.

Prescribed method to prepare for exams:

1) Go over old tests. Ask to see your son's past quizzes and tests. They should be corrected; learning from mistakes is emphasized. Many students do not learn from their mistakes because they do not take time to correct their tests. Does your son? Quizzes set up tests and tests set up the exam.
2) Create a study sheet of 15 to 20 questions you know will be on th exam. You should be able to predict these. Students had time to begin this in class. I even asked them for suggestions and they came up with four or five. Does your son have such a sheet?
3) Review the time lines. make sure your know the major period, the beginning and ending dates and events of each. Be ready to do chronologies by knowing the story.
4) Review the workbook. This requires that the pages assigned have been marked well so that the student does not have to reread; the key ideas should jump off the page if the assignment was marked correctly.
5) Prepare for the exam essay question, which I gave at the beginning of the quarter.
6) Prepare for the 3 level interpretation of Scripture, which we learned first semester and which student ought to be doing every time they go to Mass and hear the Readings.
