Illana was born to the Tia clan of Glasgau, Kasuria. The Tias were a family of farmers and low-class merchants with little reputation. Illana's father was a merchant in the main district of the city and there, Illana learned all she knows about business. Around the age of seventeen, Illana and her elder brother went out to explore the world. Accompanying them was their mule and cart, from which they would sell items to other travelers and some patrons in the cities they visited.
Illana was in charge of navigating, so she gained skill in both map reading and map making. During their travels, her elder brother met and wed with another traveler and after a few weeks of traveling, he and his wife settled in one of the cities and Illana went off on her own with her cart.
Of course, in Illana's travels she has made several connections to people and businesses in other cities. However, Illana was growing tired of wandering the world and one day happened upon a place called Arretium Citadel...
