This is my 1971Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu that I've been building for the past 2 years. Recently installed a 450 horsepower 383 stroker motor from Jon Barrett Hot Rod Engines. The new engine runs strong and has a very healthy idle. The motor has Dart Iron Eagle Heads, Edelbrock induction, MSD Ignition, Hooker Super Comp headers, and Flowmaster exhaust. The transmission is a TH350 with a shift kit. The car also has GM pearl white paint, a cowl induction hood, and black vinyl interior complete with Auto Meter gauges and a Grant steering wheel. The stereo system includes Alpine CD and 6x9's, 2 Eclipse 12" subs, and a 400 watt 4-channel Crossfire amp. The car rolls on Centerline Auto Drag wheels and BFG tires. The most recent upgrades to the car have been braided steel hose covers, chrome alternator and brackets, Hotchkis coil springs, KYB shocks, and 3" dual exhaust with Flowmaster 2-chamber mufflers. Future modifications include Harwood fiberglass bumpers and 4" cowl hood, a built TH350 with Gear Vendors under/overdrive, Hurst Pistol Grip Quarter Stick shifter, 12-bolt posi rearend with 4.11 gears, 12" front disc brakes with dropped spindles, Fat Man Fabrications Tubular A-arms, Hotchkis rear suspension package and sway bars, and 17" American Racing Torque Thrust II wheels with BFG Comp T/A's. This past Easter weekend I entered my Chevelle in the first annual Cars By the Bay car show in Avila Beach, CA. The car took first place in the Modified Muscle Car class. This is the first show I've competed in since the addition of my new powerplant, and it was nice to receive some recognition for all my effort. During the summer of 2001, I also participated in shows at UCSB, Santa Barbara's Wheels and Waves, and the Pismo Beach "Fun in the Sun" show. It's now Winter, and I recently installed a set of Scat Procar Sport 2000 racing seats, Simpson Camlock 5-point racing harnesses, and mounted my 5" tach on the dash. I plan to do a lot of updating to the site pretty soon, so check back often for new content! |
