Lung cancer is a cancerous development in the lung. Lung cancer is usually caused by smoking but other factors can cause lung cancer (look at the graph displayed towards the bottom). Everyone knows that the main cause is Cigarettes because of the toxic chemicals. But there is still stuff we dont know about the link between smoking and lung cancer.
People can still get lung cancer years after they have stopped smoking. These people get frustrated because they went through the trouble of quitting and they still get the cancer. There will be no cancer decade after the smoker stops smoking if a cell doesn't become malignant (cancerous).
There are also a couple of cases of lung cancer in people who have never even touched a smoke. This is called spontaneous cancer. Some cancer is caused by environmental smoke.
When Lung cancer cells develop, they can spread to other parts of the body, like bones, liver and brain.
