My name is Michelle Stright (married name Foto) and I am a direct descendant of Peter Roy Stright. My father is Robert M. Stright and his father was Harry Buel Stright. I have his mother's (Ida May Dicks/Stright) hand written notes she left behind with us when she passed away and in her notes she shows Peter's birth as November 24, 1795 and died May 14, 1875. Spouse: Elizabeth McDonald Stright born Januuary 3, 1805 and died April 15, 1874. Children: Mary Melissa Stright (b April 1, 1837 d August 8, 1853; William Roy Stright (b December 10, 1839 d January 22, 1909). Joseph Stright, farmer, post-office Sheakleyvill, Penn is a son of Amasa and Mary (Dodd) Stright, natives of New Jersey. The grandfather was Laurance Stright. The father of our subject was born in New JErsey in 1789, and came to Mercer County with his parents and settled in what is now Deer Creek Township about 1815. He was a aprominent member of the Presbyterian Church of Sheakleyvill, of which he was an elder for many years. In politics he was a member of the Free Soil party, and was the first man to vote that ticket in the township, and subsequently became a Republican. He dided in 1861 and his widow in 1866. Their family consisted of six children: Lovinia and Teressa, deceased; Sareh, the widow of Nathaniel Axtell; Marilla, wife of Perry
Caldwell; Ithiel, who resides in Kansas and oru subjecdt who was born March 11, 1826 on the old homestead where he has always lived. He married July 2 1857 elenor daughter of James Myers of Sandy Creek Township, and by this marriage they have two children: J H and William S. Mr Stright has filled many of the township offices. He is a consistent member of the Methodis Episcopal Church of Sheakleyville, and politacally is a Republican.
