Chapter 1: The Cliff

Mint walked up to the edge and looked toward the horizon, then looked down. Staying that way for a few minutes, she finally lifted her head up in shock, then jumped from the edge into the ravine. Then, silence. Only silence....
Silence....
Lina fell off the bed, seeing chicken wings flying around her head. Trying to catch one, she pulled Amelia's blanket off the bed next to her and made her roll in the bed before falling on the ground.
"Itaiiiiiii...." Amelia, taking a sitting position, looked up at Lina face on the ground. Then, she dressed herself and poked Lina on the head. "Lina-san...*poke poke* Linaaa-saaaan... *poke poke* LINA-SAN! *VLAM!*"
Lina, now awake, punched Amelia for waking her so savagely, then went down to eat breakfast in the little inn that they are in Offspring City. A ..."Calm" city when Lina-tachi is not around. They were here for a few days now because of a treasure near the cliff. They were looking for it because money was low, and after saving the daughter of the inn keeper by accident, they could stay for free at the inn. Running downstairs, they greeted Gourry and Zelgadis already there, waiting for the food... and coffee. Filia decided to go with them in a "I'm on vacation, even if this is no vacation for me" sentence. Wearing a blue dress, no hat, no earring. She had Jirasu and Gabros to deal with the shop and baby Val, who had grown really fast.
"FOOD! I WANT FOOD!!!!!!" cried Lina at the table.
"Well, Lina-san, it's not by destroying the table with the fork and knife that the food will appear you know...."
".... I'M HUNGRY!" At those words, a servant came up with plates, many plates of food, followed by Filia.
"MHI FIMIA!" said Lina, mouth full.
"Konnichiwa...," said Filia in a slow, sad voice.
"Is something wrong, Filia-san?" asked Amelia with a concerned look.
"No, I�m just depressed, like I don't want to do anything.... "
"Well, we'll go to the cliff, and you'll sit under a tree or something okay?" said Lina.
"... Okay..."
Lina turned to Amelia. "Geez, Filia is really not in a good mood"
"I'd say so, maybe it's... well, that time of the month...."
"Do dragons have that too?"
"I don't know, but what I know is that I'm helpless for the next few days...."
"Oh, it's your turn, Amy?"
Only a yes sign was made by Amelia's head. Gourry turned to Zelgadis.
"Those girls never told us what they said...."
No comment from Zelgadis.
"Well..., LET'S GO!" Lina yelled in the inn.
After about 10 minutes of walking, they arrived at the bottom of the cliff. Then, Filia sat under a tree, and Lina-tachi started looking for a clue to the treasure. Lina was ray winging the cliff that had a strong magical field. Gourry was looking for something that he didn't know what and that was troubling him -- a lot. Amelia was searching at the bottom and Zelgadis at the top. After a while, Amelia found something interesting....
"What is that?" Amy asked no one in particular. She started scratching the dirt on the cliff to reveal a some kind of crest. Then, still scratching to discover the rest of the tag, Filia came up to see Amelia going lunatic by scratching the cliff and only doing that without blinking....
"Have you find something, Amelia-san?" said Filia from behind.
"Hun! Filia-san! Look what I have found, it looks like some kind of crest! I was so intrigued to see what it was. That�s why I didn't tell the others yet...," said Amy with a smile on her face. "You feeling better?"
"Yeah, I guess this isn't my day.... Well, about that crest, I'll go warn the others!" Then, Filia teleported.
"I really wonder what is it...." Amy was still cleaning the dirt on it all around the crest that look like a kind of " |N ".
"It seems like we can push it...." Amy pushed the crest, then a loud sound could be heard.
"AMELIA!" Lina yelled when she saw Amelia. " GET AWAY FROM IT!"
Some weird magic-like green light came out of the crest. Amelia couldn't move because of the shock, but that light wasn't aiming for her, like it was waiting something. Filia appeared and tried to disappear again, but before she could disappear, the green light went straight into Filia. Not moving, eyes as big as eggs, Filia collapsed to the ground, Amelia next to her. Then, the green light disappeared. Everyone ran to them looking to see that none of them were hurt, especially Filia. Then, Filia sat up and held her head.
"Are you all right?" said Amelia, looking at Filia.
Filia only made a yes sign with her head.
"What was all that about?" asked Lina.
"I don't know. I found something, then Filia was gone telling you guys, but I pushed it and a green light came out of it... but it was like it didn't want me...," said Amelia sadly . "Arigato, Filia-san, you hurt yourself for me...."
Then, out of nowhere, something materialized... guess who.
"XELLOSS!" yelled Lina
"Don't scream that loud! Do you want me to become deaf? Anyway, what the hell just happened here? I was on Wolf pack Island, then I felt a strong magic source. I should have known it was you...."
Then, Xelloss looked around, eyeing on Lina, then Gourry next to her, Zelgadis who was helping Amelia to get up, and then Filia, who didn't seem to have noticed him, even if she could sense him dimensions away.
Filia.
Still staring at her with a demoniac smile, Xelloss started talking in her mind.
'Oh! isn't that my deeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaarrrr Filia!'
'ACK, Xelloss! Stop surprising me like that! Stop talking in my mi... hey! What are you doing here! When did you arrive?'
'Are you mocking me? Even if Lina screamed my name loud enough to make all people on earth deaf.'
'Well then, I wasn't paying attention, Namagomi. Now, go away! I don't need you!'
'Is that so, Filia-chan! ^_^'
'...... my day was ruined at the beginning... but, I WON'T LET YOU RUIN IT MORE!'
Filia got up and pulled her mace out from under her skirt, then was going straight to bash Xelloss with it, with a war scream, but...
" ......*......" came out of her mouth
.
All stopped.
"Filia-san, are you okay?" asked Amelia, worried.
" ........., " came out of Filia's mouth.
" It seem that she can't talk...," said Gourry.
"What a nice observation," said Lina sarcastically.
" ........ ....... ........., " Filia tried to say again, but nothing came out.
Xelloss looked at Filia, then at the crest on the wall.
"Now, that is going to be interesting," said Xelloss, happy fake smile on his face.
