What is more romantic than DARKNESS?
Being a hopeless romantic, the art of darkness is my speciality...
I did not pick up a paintbrush until I made the aquaintance of Death. When He takes from you, life changes as mine did.
The change was total. Art became a state of being. It changed my perception of light and color and darkness. I opened my eyes from a place of primitive pain and looked at the world...differently...and in turn my photography, an extension of my innate voyeurism, became more "painterly"...and darker.
Behind every mask, there are shadows. My search for the dark side of beauty leads me to those moments that would otherwise be lost in the shadows and instead, captures them with a photograph...a painting...a poem.
