Chapter 1

Turning off his computer Mark stood up and stretched to ease his muscles.  Rummaging through the cupboard for something edible his mind drifted back to the earlier conversation.  Did Nicky really offer him a threesome with himself and Kian?  He had fancied the blond ever since they met and ever since he found out Kian was gay as well it wasn't uncommon for him to have a wet dream featuring his two blond friends.

He sat thinking it over while his dinner was in the microwave and came to the conclusion that Nicky must have been just kidding, the lad loved being cheeky.  Another comment from his two friends kept running through his mind too.  They wanted to hear him sing.  Easier said than done, he thought, he only sang very rarely, not to say never when he knew anyone was around.  Especially his own songs.  Hearing the signal of the microwave he firmly put those thoughts out of his head and stood up to get his food.

As he sat down on the couch with his food, not bothering to sit at the table, the thoughts came back to him.  He loved singing, there was no question of that, but this crippling stage fright always made him stop whenever he noticed someone else was around.  Nicky and Kian had both walked in on him singing along with the radio but even though he knew they had already heard him he couldn't get himself to continue while knowing they were there.  Back in Sligo he used to sing in the school choir and even then had been told he had a great voice and even been offered the position of solo-singer but he had refused, he couldn't sing while feeling all eyes on him.  They had thought he was only shy but a try-out during rehearsals proved impossible, never even mind a real performance.

If only he could get rid of this stage fright!  But it seemed to be something he was born with, something that would never go away.  Putting down his tray he walked into his room, taking his notebook out of its hiding place under the mattress.  There were so many songs in there he wished would get a chance to be heard but it seemed so impossible.  Maybe he should do as Kian and Nicky said and give it a try; maybe they could somehow help him.  His thoughts drifted to the two blonds, what would they be doing now?

Chapter 2

Nicky stood up from the computer laughing and turned round to see his boyfriend scowling at him.

“What were you playing at?” Kian said a little louder than Nicky wanted

“Mark is just so easy to wind up Ki” Nicky replied

“You know how sensitive he is about his singing so why wind him up with promises of what is probably his fantasy” Kian huffed

“Do you really think Marky has fantasies about us or him and us?” Nicky said suddenly turning more serious.

“Anyway let’s get that dinner before it’s ruined. I hope you apologise to him when you see him tomorrow” Kian continued

“Well maybe” Nicky replied shuffling closer to his boyfriend and rubbing his now obvious bulge into his back “But wouldn’t it be a laugh to see his face if we really did do something all together?”

“Don’t even think about it Nicky” Kian said trying to scold but the closeness of Nicky who was obviously turned on was making it very hard for him to concentrate.

Dinner was eaten quickly so the two could enjoy each others company. Nicky made light work of his clothes and then Kian’s so he could feel their bodies close together. Nicky was going to tease Kian until he had forgotten some of his inhibitions tonight but at the back of his mind he still quite liked the idea of a threesome…knowing he shouldn’t even be thinking it though.

Nicky caressed Kian’s body first with soft touches of his fingers and then with his mouth. Kian writhed under Nicky’s ministrations. As much as he wanted to stay angry at Nicky he couldn’t and soon became too far gone. Nicky took Kian’s throbbing cock into his mouth and teased it with his tongue as he brought him closer to orgasm. Kian couldn’t believe that Nicky could do new things to him each time they were together.

All of a sudden Nicky stopped, getting a grunt from Kian.

“God Nicky please don’t stop now” Kian gasped

“Well maybe I’m not in the mood anymore” Nicky whispered daringly

“Nicky please you know how much I want you so please” Kian continued.

Nicky could see the begging in Kian’s eyes and with a laugh as he took Kian once more in his mouth he quickly brought Kian to orgasm.

Chapter 3

Getting out of his shower Mark put his bathrobe on and padded to his wardrobe.  Half an hour later he still hadn't decided on what to wear.  "For God's sake, Mark, it's only Nicky," he scolded himself.  "He's seen you before and a lot worse looking than this," he told himself, remembering the time he had had "a bit" too much to drink and had been sick all through the next day.

Finally deciding on a blue shirt and black trousers he checked the clock - he only had half an hour left to get to Bewley's.  Quickly getting his mobile out he rang a taxi while looking through his wardrobe for a jacket to wear.  "What are you doing, Mark?" he muttered to himself, holding the phone in-between his ear and his shoulder while trying to decide which of two almost identical black jackets to wear.  "Yeah hello, could I get a taxi please?"

Five minutes later at the sound of the horn he almost ran from the house, pulling the door into the lock behind him.  Feeling his phone vibrate, he answered it: "Yeah Nicky I'm on my way.  See you in a few."

"Hey," he greeted, only just catching his breath as he arrived at Bewley's, where Nicky already had a coffee in front of him.

"Don't worry, you're not late.  The interview just finished early," Nicky answered the greeting.  He then looked up: "Wow, Mark, who are you trying to impress?  You got a secret date later?"

"No..." Mark started, not knowing what too say.  He kicked himself inwardly for thinking Nicky wouldn't notice, the blond had a perfect fashion sense and would notice even the tiniest change.  "You like it then?"

"You look great!  If I didn't have Kian I'd do you right now!" Nicky laughed.

"Nicky!" Mark hissed, going beetroot red and quickly sitting down to hide the bulge in his trousers at Nicky's words.  "We're in public!"

"Ah you know me," Nicky smirked, not even bothering to keep his voice down.

Quickly changing the subject Mark asked: "So how was the interview?"

"Went ok I think.  Won't know until next week though."

A waitress came by their table to take their orders.  When she was gone, Nicky continued: "So Mark, our conversation yesterday - I still want to hear those songs of yours..."

"Nicky I told you, I can't sing!" Mark's skin colour turned to red for the second time in minutes and he hid his face in his hands.

"Sure you can, you've a great voice.  I've heard you before -"

"Yeah," Mark interrupted, "when I didn't know you were even there.  I've stage fright Nicky; I freeze whenever I know anyone's listening."

"But you've obviously sung in front of Kian - you've written songs together."

"That's different.  We were just trying some things out, not performing or anything.  There was no one else in the house those times, never even mind in the same room.  I really can't sing in front of an audience..."

"It's only me though - there must be some way we can cure that stage fright of yours?" Nicky asked.

"Can we just talk about something else, Nicky?" Mark asked, feeling the tears threatening and not allowing himself to cry in public.  "I'm going to the loos."

Nicky sat staring after Mark as he disappeared into the men's room.  Kian had warned him singing was a sensitive subject with Mark but he hadn't thought it would be that bad.  As the food arrived he decided to give Mark a bit more time but there had to be a way to help him, this was obviously getting to him more than anyone could tell...

Chapter 4

Mark knew he’d been too long in the loos but the tears had started to fall as soon as he got into the loos and he didn’t want Nicky to see he’d been crying. Nicky was just about to go and look for Mark when he appeared.

“I started without you Mark I hope that’s okay?” Nicky said seeing that Mark had obviously been crying.

They ate in relative silence after that and as soon as they had finished Mark made an excuse and left as soon as he could. Nicky felt awful, knowing it had been his fault. He cursed himself for not doing as Kian had asked and not mentioned singing.

The second interview went in a bit of a blur for Nicky as his thoughts were on how he’d upset Mark and was bound to upset Kian when he told him when he got home. Even so at the end of the interview Nicky was told they would let him know shortly. Nicky left the interview and went to look around the shops for a while as he wasn’t looking forward to going home.

Nicky wasn’t really looking at the shops as he past but something caught his eye in a jewellers shop window and he had to take a closer look. Nicky went inside and asked the assistant if he could look at the tray he’d seem in the window. The ring looked even better close up and Nicky was sure Kian would love it so Nicky got two one for him and one for Kian.

Nicky made sure he got home and had time to hide the rings before going into the room to see Kian. Kian was looking at some stuff for work and started when he felt two arms around him.

“So how did it go today?” Kian asked putting his papers down

“Well both interviews seemed to go okay I think” Nicky started “At least they didn’t say no way anyway so I guess that means I have a chance. Both jobs seem to be interesting too so I guess I’ll just have to wait now and see what happens.”

“And lunch?” Kian asked and noticed how Nicky shuffled uncomfortably in the chair.

“It was okay” was all Nicky offered hoping Kian wouldn’t ask more.

Kian could see by the look in Nicky’s eyes he was not telling the whole story. Kian looked at Nicky sternly “You didn’t did you?” he asked

“Didn’t what?” Nicky replied trying to sound innocent

“Come on Nix I know you’re not telling me everything here so spill” Kian said, raising his voice slightly.

“Well I” Nicky started “I may have mentioned the singing”

“AND” Kian said a bit louder now

“AndMarkranoffcrying” Nicky said quickly

“NIX!” Kian shouted “WHAT DID I TELL YOU?”

“I know I know Kian and I’m sorry I just thought I could persuade him but it all went a bit wrong and now he hates me and I might have messed things up” Nicky was babbling and he knew it but he hoped Kian would calm down and forgive him.

Kian tutted and pulled Nicky to him. He knew Nicky meant well but he could sometimes be a bit too pushy when things didn’t go his way.

“I suppose I’ll have to try and smooth things over with Mark then won’t I?” Kian said as he hugged Nicky “I know you mean well but I told you to leave this didn’t I?”

“Yes” Nicky mumbled into Kian’s chest “Sorry”

Chapter 5

"Why do I always have to cry like that?" Mark scolded himself in front of the bathroom mirror.  After lunch he had walked home as quickly as he could.  It had still taken him a while but he didn't mind, glad for the fresh air in his face that helped him calm down a bit but as soon as he walked through the door of his home the tears came back, however hard he tried to stop them.  "For Pete's sake Mark, he was only trying to help, he doesn't know..."  Mark himself however did remember the moment his stage fright had started.

He had been four years old, had just become a big brother.  All the family had gathered to celebrate the new baby's christening and Mark had, for a reason he couldn't remember, stood on the table singing some or another lullaby for his baby brother.  Halfway through the song - he didn't know why it had happened but he had forgotten the words and almost fallen off the table, his mum had only just managed to catch him.  Since then he had been wary of being on any kind of stage for fear of making a fool of himself - some of his older cousins still reminded him of that disastrous moment whenever they saw a chance.  He didn't even dare sing when anyone at all could hear him anymore.

"Get over it, Mark, it's been ages!  You're not a toddler anymore, stop acting like one!" he spoke to his reflection, splashing some cold water in his face to take away the redness of his eyes.  Satisfied with his looks - or rather deciding it would do as he wasn't expecting any visitors nor planning to go out - he slumped down on the couch, turning the television on but not really watching it, there were too many thoughts running through his mind.

He didn't know how much time had passed when the doorbell pulled him out of his thoughts but a glance at the windows told him it had been a while, it was getting dark already.  Turning on a light he walked over to the door: "Who's there?"

"Just me," Kian's voice came from the other side of the door.

"Hey Kian," Mark greeted as he opened the door, "what's up?"

"Nicky told me what happened - I figured you might want someone to talk to," Kian explained.

Stepping aside and letting Kian come in, Mark heaved a sigh.  Closing the door he leant back against it.  Kian knew not to press him and indeed, after a few moments Mark started to talk.

"I don't know what came over me.  He couldn't have known...  He just kept going on about me singing - you know why I hate that so much..."

"Yeah I know but Mark, it's been two decades, you can't let that moment rule your life forever," Kian softly told his friend.  "I know you love singing, you can't let that hold you back.  There must be some way we can help you."

Mark sank down to the floor, still leaning against the door, pulling his knees up.  Kian kneeled down next to him.  "Come on, don't think about that now.  Say, you want to come to mine and Nicky's for lunch tomorrow?  We'll just have fun, it'll do you good to get your mind off things - if you want you can even come with me now, it'll stop you from being alone tonight.  What do you say?"

Tears threatening in his eyes and choking his voice prevented Mark from speaking but he nodded, letting Kian pull him up and into a hug.  "Come on then, get some stuff and let's go."

Chapter 6

Kian seemed to be waiting ages for Mark but finally he was ready and they set off to Kian and Nicky’s house in silence apart from the occasional sniff from Mark. When they got back Kian went in first to try and stop Nicky doing anything daft. Nicky heard the door and leapt up and ran to the hallway. Kian had left without saying anything and had been gone ages and Nicky was getting worried. Nicky stopped dead when he saw Kian and Mark in the hallway. He was about to say something when he saw Kian shake his head.

“Hi Kian, hi Mark” was all Nicky ended up saying

“You go take a seat in the room and I’ll take your stuff upstairs” Kian said ushering Mark into the living room and trying to get Nicky to follow him.

Once out of earshot of Mark, Nicky started “I was worried about you, Kian. You didn’t say you were going out.”

“I had to see that Mark was alright and it’s a good job I did because he’s a mess” Kian hissed back

“I’m sorry Kian. I just didn’t think he’d get so upset about it” Nicky whispered back

“Well just don’t make things worse now okay” Kian started “I asked him to lunch tomorrow but as he was in a state told him to come back with me.”

“Okay I’ll go keep him company” Nicky said “And don’t worry, I won’t mention singing” he added when Kian gave him a look.

Mark had gone into the living room and sat down, his head hung and tears still threatening to fall. He was wondering why he’d said he’d come back with Kian tonight, but seeing the worried look on Nicky’s face told him he’d not known Kian had gone to see him. Nicky came bounding into the living room.

“Want a drink of tea or something?” Nicky said scaring Mark out of his thoughts

“Yeah sure” Mark replied

Nicky went off and made tea for all of them. By the time he returned Kian was sat talking to Mark. Seeing the tea he smiled at Nicky and nodded. Nicky placed the cups down on the table and went and sat down almost on Kian’s lap.

“Watch it” Kian squealed as Nicky had got a bit too close to his groin for comfort

Nicky whispered something to Kian which made him blush as Mark looked on at the interaction between the pair. He had to admit they did look very sexy together and he could feel a tinge of jealousy and desire as he watched. Nicky knew full well that although Mark had gone quiet he was watching and he was going to do all he could to make Mark so filled with lust he could do anything to him or maybe get him to do anything.

Although Kian loved the attention Nicky was giving him, he had to admit he felt a bit guilty with Mark being there. Kian noticed how intently Mark was watching what they were doing and finally it dawned on him.

“Nicky kitchen now” Kian suddenly said standing up and showing off to great effect what Nicky’s attention had done to him. Nicky followed Kian into the kitchen, walking proudly past Mark, wiggling his hips slightly to show off the erection he was now sporting. Nicky heard Mark let out a slight moan as he went into the kitchen and smirked.

“Nicky I know what you’re playing at” Kian started but was cut short by Nicky forcefully pressing his lips to his. Kian struggled slightly but soon gave into Nicky’s kiss, moaning as he did.

In the living room Mark heard Kian moan and could guess what the two were up to but he wanted to find out for sure so he crept to the door of the kitchen and peeped in. By this time Nicky was kissing Kian hard and his hand had moved to rub the prominent bulge in Kian’s jeans. “We should go back” Kian gasped as Nicky gave him a few seconds to breath before attaching himself to Kian’s lips once more. Mark was getting quite turned on now watching the pair and it took all his effort not to moan along with Kian.

Nicky turned Kian slightly and caught a shadow to his left, noticing it was Mark he slowly manoeuvred Kian towards the door. Mark knew he should move but was riveted to the spot. A few moments later he felt some lips on his as Nicky quickly moved his kiss from Kian to Mark. Kian was going to say something but Nicky placed a finger over his lips so he kept quiet. Nicky left Mark’s lips ushering a groan from the lad and gasped “You want me Mark boy don’t you?”

Mark looked shocked as he realized what had just happened and went bright red as he saw the smile on Nicky’s face and the look of concern on Kian’s.

N Nnnno” Mark stuttered and was about to turn and run when Nicky grasped his groin.

“This tells me otherwise Marky so you might as well admit it” Nicky smirked and got slapped by Kian

“Leave it Nicky” Kian hissed.

Chapter 7

"I...  I...  Sorry," Mark stuttered again, trying to speak past the lump in his throat.  He did want Nicky right now but didn't want to be responsible for breaking up the two blonds' relationship.  It was a promise he'd made himself after finding out his then boyfriend was cheating on him, he'd never start anything with anyone who was in any way involved.  He knew too well the hurt the other person's partner would go through at that and for sure did not wish it upon Kian.

The younger blonde’s stormy blue eyes were already shooting angry looks at his boyfriend and to top it all off Nicky didn't really seem to feel the threat and continued taunting: "So tell me, Mark, what do you really think?  What's hidden in that head of yours?"

"Nicky, one more word and you're sleeping on the sofa tonight!" Kian hissed, at the verge of losing his temper and struggling to hold back only because of Mark - Nicky would most definitely suffer for this!

Nicky ignored the warning as a false threat though, stepping even closer to the tall brunette.  With their faces only inches apart he whispered, making sure Mark felt his breath: "So tell me, Mark..."

"Nicky, I warned you!" Kian shouted as he pulled his boyfriend back, pushing him against the wall.  Nicky's smirk only threw oil on the fire and Kian spat: "Don't dare come near me tonight!"

Nicky's smirk immediately faded: "Oh come on Ki, you know I was only playing, you know I didn't mean it!"

"Tell it to someone who cares, Nick!  I warned you not to do this!" Kian spat, striding over to the fridge.  Taking the six-pack of beer out of it and slamming it shut, he turned to Mark: "Come on, Mark, let's go watch some TV in my room.  Oh and Nick -" he pointed a finger at the older blond "- don't even THINK you're sleeping in our room tonight!"

"Don't you think you were a bit hard on him, Ki?" Mark asked his long-term friend as the door of the bedroom closed behind them.

"I warned him, didn't I?  Why you defending him?  Did you like what he was doing to you?  'Cause if so, Mark, why the fuck don't you just join him out there huh?"

Mark, being well used to Kian's occasional temper tantrums by now, calmly replied: "I didn't mean it like that, Kian.  Come on now, you wanted to watch TV, didn't you?  I think Titanic was supposed to be on by now..."  Grabbing the remote off one of the nightstands he turned on the TV and sure enough Titanic was just starting.  "I told you," Mark just smiled and sat down on the bed.

"Move over, Mark, this is my side," Kian spoke, sounding a bit calmer now.  Past experience had taught Mark the best way to calm his friend down in a tantrum was just to ignore it and change the subject and it had proven right again today.

Shuffling over on the bed and finding a more comfortable position Mark watched as Kian changed into his night gear, the blonde’s eyes fixated on the TV didn't notice his friend staring and when Kian turned to get in bed Mark was quick enough to look away before getting caught staring.

Halfway through the film Mark felt his eyes getting heavy and sliding deeper into the pillow he dozed off, only to be woken again at the end of the film by a hand shaking his shoulder: "Mark...  Mark, wake up, we got to get you to the other room..."  Struggling to get his eyes open and then screwing them nearly shut again to block out the harsh light he could only just about make out a familiar face topped with blond hair...

Chapter 8

Meanwhile downstairs Nicky couldn’t believe how Kian had turned on him. It seemed to him that as far as Mark was concerned he couldn’t have a bit of fun, or did Kian think it was more than that? Nicky couldn’t deny he did wonder what it would be like kissing Mark’s full lips but he wouldn’t do that to Kian. Nicky wandered upstairs and got out a blanket and pillows and went back downstairs to settle on the sofa for the night. A while later he heard movement upstairs and mumbling.

Mark didn’t want to move he was comfortable “Can’t I just stay here” Mark said sleepily. Kian saw that Mark could hardly keep his eyes open so gave in and said yes. Immediately Mark snuggled down and was asleep in seconds. Kian watched Mark for a while. He looked so relaxed in his sleep it was hard to believe he had been in so much turmoil earlier.

Kian’s thoughts now went to Nicky, he knew he’d been hard on him but at times his games got a bit much for anyone to take .Kian felt a tinge of guilt but shook it off and besides he couldn’t let Nicky back to their room now. Kian got up and got a blanket to put over Mark and got back into bed to sleep.

Nicky was awake most of the night, the sofa wasn’t that comfortable and he felt like screaming at Kian for making him sleep there. After thinking about it most of the night he knew Kian had a point and he did push things a little too far but he was sure Mark was up for a bit of fun if only he could persuade Kian…

Nicky turned over and grimaced as his morning erection hit a hard spot on the sofa. He wished he was now curled up with Kian and could tease him awake and get an early morning blowjob but this morning he would have to either leave it or take things into his own hands. Nicky got up and went to the bathroom thinking a shower might help. He casually walked into his and Kian’s room but wasn’t quite prepared for the sight he got.

During the night Mark had rolled closer to Kian and now had an arm flung casually over him, his face turned close to Kian’s. Nicky couldn’t help but feel a tinge of jealousy as he grabbed some clean underwear and a t-shirt and went into the bathroom, making as much noise as he could in the process. Kian stirred on hearing the noise and found he couldn’t move. Opening his eyes he saw Mark was lying almost on top of him, so knew it had to be Nicky making the noise. His first thought was let him suffer but then he thought of how Nicky must have had a bad night on the sofa, so he carefully slipped out from under Mark’s arm and went into the bathroom.

Nicky was in the shower, hard and now huffing at seeing Mark getting comfortable with HIS BOYFRIEND!! Kian wanted to laugh as he heard the mumbling from the shower. He could see Nicky’s silhouette and see he was hard and immediately felt his body respond. He saw Nicky’s hand moving lower and immediately stripped off his boxers and opened the shower door.

Nicky heard the shower door go and froze for a moment until he felt familiar lips kiss his back and whisper “That’s mine” in his ear. Nicky turned and kissed Kian hard.

Chapter 9

"NICKYYYY!!!!!!!!!"  Kian's scream of ecstasy filled the house, startling Mark awake.  Confused he looked at his surroundings - this wasn't his room!  Seeing Kian's guitar standing in a corner and Nicky's favourite football jersey hanging casually over the back of a chair the events of the night before came flooding back to him.

"Sounds like they made up then," Mark chuckled to himself.  Shifting on the bed he suddenly didn't feel too comfortable - he needed the loo and soon!  Getting out of bed he knocked the bathroom door: "Lads!  I need the loo!"

"Feck!  Make it fast!" Nicky swore.  Not knowing whether the comment was directed at him or Kian Mark decided to take the chance - his bladder wouldn't be able to hold mucch longer, this was an emergency.  Scrambling into the bathroom and reaching the loo just in time he let out a sigh at the relief that washed over him as he emptied his bladder.  Reaching down to pull up his boxers and trousers - which he only now realised he had forgotten to take off before bed - he caught his two blond friends staring at him.  Making fast work of his fly and making sure everything was in place he turned around blushing.  As he felt something stir in his trousers he quickly looked away, mumbled an apology and fled the room.

Once he'd reached the safe haven of the living room he sat down on the sofa, wrapping the blanket Nicky had been using around himself...

Chapter 10

“Shite” Kian exclaimed scrambling around for something to wear

“Take it easy Kian” Nicky said trying not to laugh but knowing if he said too much he may end up another night on the sofa.

Kian rushed into their bedroom and grabbed a clean t-shirt and trousers and went to look for Mark. It didn’t take long for him to get to the living room and see the hunched up figure on the sofa. Clearing his throat to let Mark know he was there Kian approached. Mark looked at Kian quickly and then away again. Kian went over and sat down next to Mark, slinging an arm around the lad and pulling him into a hug as best he could with Mark and the blanket.

“What’s really the matter?” Kian asked having a feeling there was more to this than just Mark’s stage fright.

“I guess I’m a bit jealous of what you have” Mark replied softly his voice close to breaking “And in a way Nicky was right last night I did want him” he confessed blushing even more and burying his head in Kian’s shoulder.

Kian was slightly taken aback by the comment but in a way could not blame Mark for finding Nicky attractive. Kian just wished Nicky wouldn’t play with people emotions like he did at times, he may be used to it but others like Mark were more vulnerable to his toying. Kian could see Mark needed some sort of reassurance here.

“It’s okay Mark, Nicky can be a bit in your face at times and a terrible flirt but he means no harm by it even if I have a feeling his joking about a threesome may have some truth in it” Kian said trying to lighten the mood “And don’t worry Mark you’ll still be our friend no matter what okay”

Kian felt a nod from Mark who once again was sobbing. Kian mused about the fact that he would have to change yet again but just held Mark and rubbed his back until he calmed down.

In the meantime Nicky had got dried and dressed and had come downstairs. ON hearing voices in the living room he had gone to the door and stopped outside. Knowing he shouldn’t eavesdrop really but not daring go in. He had just about heard what Mark was saying about wanting him and felt the blood rush to his groin, then on hearing Kian’s comments about a threesome it seemed as if his imagination was ahead of all of them. Shaking himself he went to the kitchen to do some breakfast.

Mark calmed down and after apologising yet again for his bladder he uncurled himself out of the blanket.

“Now Mark why don’t you go and get a shower and change and by the sound of things Nicky’s making some breakfast.” Kian said smiling at the bedraggled looking lad. Mark nodded and disappeared.

Kian went into the kitchen and sure enough there was Nicky trying to make some bacon sandwiches. Kian laughed and Nicky turned around.

“Thought you may want some privacy so thought I’d do something useful and sorry again about last night” Nicky said putting on his best pout knowing Kian couldn’t resist. Kian just smiled and shook his head.

Chapter 11

Tears stung in Mark's eyes by the time he reached the bathroom.  Shooting a look in the direction of the mirror he winced, he did look shite.  Letting the water of the shower run and hoping the hot water would last until he was done he shed his clothes and stepped under the spray, letting the tears run freely now they were hidden by the running water anyway. After soaping himself up he leant his arms against the wall, letting the water cascade down his back.

Meanwhile in the kitchen Nicky had captured Kian's lips on his own.  Kissing first lazily, and then deepening the kiss he softly pushed Kian against the wall, revelling in the closeness.  Kian didn't protest until Nicky's hands found their way under the younger blonde’s t-shirt and detaching his lips from his lover's he spoke: "We can't, Nick..."

Nicky pouted, all night he'd missed not being close to Kian and now it seemed Kian was pushing him away again.  "Why not?"

"Mark", came the short reply as Kian looked down and turned, leaning his hands on the worktop now in front of him.

"But Mark's upstairs taking a shower - we have time..."

Kian sighed, looking sideways to face Nicky.  "I just don't want to hurt him or confuse him even more in case he comes down and we don't hear him.  When I was talking to him earlier - the stage fright seems to be only the tip of the iceberg with him.  Nicky, why did you come on to him like that yesterday?"

"I was only playing.  Well he is a good-looking lad but I have you - I didn't mean it really, I was just messing," Nicky tried to defend himself, thinking his boyfriend suspected him of wanting to break of their relationship and start something with the tall brunette.

"Only playing...  You have to stop doing that, Nick.  Not everyone can handle your playing as well as I can.  Do you even realise what you've put Mark through with that?" Kian softly asked, trying not to sound accusing but needing to get through to Nicky before anything worse happened.  "He does fancy you, Nick.  He doesn't want to come between us so he won't act on it but please don't make it harder on him than it already is.  I know it's just your nature to act this way and I love you as you are but please try not to mess with Mark's feelings."

"I thought he knew by now not to take me seriously..." Nicky spoke softly, guilt washing over him as he for the first time realised how his flirting really did affect Mark.

Kian turned back to Nicky and wrapped his arms around his lover.  "It's ok.  Just be careful how you act around him, will you?"

"I'll try...  Can we at least cuddle for a bit though?  I missed you last night..."

Kian just smiled and nodded, leading his lover towards the sofa where he sat down sideways, allowing Nicky to lie between the younger blonde’s legs.  Reaching for the blanket he pulled it over the both of them.  "This ok?"  A slight nod from his boyfriend told Kian all he wanted to know.

The water of the shower had turned cold long before Mark got out of it but he'd let it rain down upon himself, not having the energy or the willpower to do something about it.  Finally deciding he couldn't stay in the shower forever he turned off the water and dried himself off. Putting on his boxers and a loose pair of blue jeans he looked in the mirror.  Personally he thought he still looked shite but at least he looked a bit more presentable than he had before his shower.  Pulling a loose black t-shirt over his head and not bothering with socks or anything he made his way downstairs barefoot.

Peering around the living room door as he didn't want to interrupt anything Mark saw his two friends lying on the sofa, seemingly sleeping.  Kian looked up at him though when he approached.  "Hey you, feeling any better yet?"

"A bit," Mark forced a smile.  "I'm just going to get me some breakfast, ok?"  With that he hurried to the kitchen, unable to stand the sight of his two friends looking so loved-up any longer...

Chapter 12

Kian pulled away from Nicky eliciting a groan from him. Kian gave Nicky and I told you so look and Nicky nodded.

“I’ll go say sorry okay” Nicky whispered and Kian nodded.

Mark was determined he was going to stop crying but could still feel the tears near to the surface. Nicky tapped him on the shoulder making him jump.

“Do you want me to do you some bacon and stuff?” Nicky asked

“No its okay I don’t feel very hungry” Mark sighed

“Well I hope you’re still up for lunch I’m going to do something light anyway” Nicky carried on and could see Mark was still close to tears “Anyway just wanted to see if you needed help finding anything and to say I’m sorry about yesterday.”

Mark managed a small smile “Think I’ll just have some toast for now. Do you want me to make some tea while I’m in here?”

“Only if you want Marky I can do it you know” Nicky replied smiling

Nicky and Mark looked at one another for a moment and the laughed. In the other room Kian heard the laughing and let out the breath he hadn’t realized he was holding. It seemed at least for now Nicky was behaving.

A short while later Nicky and Mark came back into the room with some tea, still laughing although now neither knew why. Nicky drank his tea quickly and whispered to Kian that he was off to get some stuff for lunch so why didn’t he show Mark the music room and maybe chat. Kian kissed Nicky and whispered that that was a good idea. Nicky then hugged Mark, got his jacket, phone and money and went out.

“Where’s he off to?” Mark asked

“To get stuff for lunch so he may be a while. Do you fancy a chat and a look at our music room?” Kian asked trying to make it sound as natural as possible.

Chapter 13

"So what do you think?" Kian spoke, standing in the door of the music room as Mark was inside looking around.

Letting his fingers glide over the painted wood of the piano Mark tried to get rid of the lump in his throat.  So many songs could come from this now silent instrument, so many songs that had a right to be heard but never had a chance.

"Mark?  What are you thinking about?" Kian slowly moved closer, softly laying a hand on his mate's shoulder.

"So many songs," Mark just muttered, never taking his eyes off the piano.  Just then the telephone downstairs rang.

"Are you going to be OK here for a bit?" Kian asked, not really wanting to leave Mark on his own but he needed to take the call, it could be about Nicky's interviews the day before.  A small nod from Mark was his answer.  "Thanks mate.  I won't be long..."

Mark felt the tears well in his eyes once more as Kian left the room.  He sat down on the stool at the piano and struck a few notes.  Why had he never decently learnt how to play an instrument?  OK so he could play the flute but that wasn't too much of a help when it came to putting music to his songs.  Softly he began to sing, a song he had written not too long ago, just before he had left Sligo but that he still knew by heart.

"I am lost, here on my own

My hopes have gone, my fears have grown

I try to run and then I fall

I'm shouting out, who hears my call?

Help me I'm so weak now

I cannot be strong

I don't know the way and how

To get where I belong

Can't find the path, I've lost my way

Where I am I cannot stay

I have a shelter, but not a home

Through the dark, I always roam

Help me I'm so weak now

I cannot be strong

I don't know the way and how

To get where I belong

Please hear me now, my angel dear

Come down to me I need you near

Give me a sign, show me the way

To make it through Today

Help me I'm so weak now

I cannot be strong

I don't know the way and how

To get where I belong

Show me the path, lead the way

To a place where I can stay

I can fight no longer all alone

Can't stay here on my own

Help me I'm so weak now

I cannot be strong

I don't know the way and how

To get where I belong

Help me I'm so weak now

I cannot be strong

I don't know the way and how

To get where I belong

Please help me

Help me I'm so weak now

I cannot be strong

I don't know the way and how

To get where I belong

Help me I'm so weak now..."

Unbeknown to Mark Kian had come back upstairs shortly after the taller lad had started to sing and was now standing on the other side of the door which had been left ajar.  He knew he shouldn't have been listening while Mark didn't know but he also knew Mark wouldn't have sung that particular song - or any of his own that he hadn't actuallly written together with Kian - if he had known the blond was listening.  Peering through the opening between the door and the wall he thought he saw tears glistening in Mark's eyes, when the tall brunette stood up from the stool and went to stand by the window Kian's suspicion was confirmed.

Softly he knocked the door to alert Mark of his presence.  Startled the lad turned around, too surprised to think about wiping away the tears that were rolling down his cheeks.  "How long have you been standing there?" he asked, scared that Kian might have heard his song but still in a weird way hoping he had.

"A while.  I didn't mean to eavesdrop but the phone call didn't last long and I didn't want to disturb while you were singing.  That was a beautiful song, Mark..." Kian decided on honesty, making Mark blush at the compliment and turn away embarrassed again.
"It wasn't.  Just sentimental crap," Mark spoke after a few moments.

"It was beautiful.  Sentimental yes but by no means crap.  When will you ever learn to take my word on that?" Kian spoke as he went to stand half behind Mark, putting a hand on the taller lad's shoulder as he looked at his reflection in the window glass.  "Mark?  Can I ask you something?" he then asked.  A shrug from Mark gave him the signal to go ahead.  "Why do you never talk about how you feel?  You write songs about it - judging about what Nicky told me about the papers he saw way back when - but you never sing them to anyone and you never talk about how you feel.  Why don't you let me help?  You don't have to fight alone," Kian spoke, the song in mind.

Mark never answered, just shrugged Kian's hand off and turned to walk away, not speaking a word.  On seeing Mark nearly walk out the door, Kian called out: "Mark, wait! Please...  Can we at least try and put some music to that song of yours?"

Before Mark could reply the sound of the front door opening interrupted them and Nicky's cheerful voice echoed through the house: "Honey!  I'm home!"

Chapter 14

Nicky didn’t get a reply but just shrugged and went into the kitchen to sort out the stuff he’d got for lunch and make a start.

On hearing Nicky, Mark had second thoughts about running out and went back into the music room.

“Do you really think its good enough to put music to?” Mark asked softly as he sat down next to Kian, who was now sat at the piano.

“Of course I do” Kian replied desperately trying to make Mark understand he had talent. “Do you have the words written down at all?”

Mark nodded and pulled a notebook from his pocket. Kian took some music sheets from a pile he had near the piano and started to write the first few lines of the song onto them.

“How about you sing the first few lines as you did before and I’ll see how they transpose onto the music?” Kian said softly putting a hand on Mark’s knee.

Mark’s first thought was to say he couldn’t but it was only Kian so he nodded and began to sing the song again softly for fear that anyone else (or rather Nicky) heard. Kian listened and started to mark the sheets with the chords he felt were appropriate and soon they had the first verse marked up on a music sheet and soon after the first chorus at which point Kian asked Mark to stop for a moment and listen to what he had. Kian played the chords and tried his best to sing the words but was finding it difficult.

In the kitchen Nicky could hear the music starting to come from the music room and guessed it must be Kian and possible Mark up there. Nicky couldn’t hear Mark but was certain he was there. Nicky was tempted to move closer to the music room but after what had happened the day before he thought it better to leave Kian to it.

Kian transposed more verses and choruses onto the music sheets and an hour later it was all there on paper for the pair to see. Mark couldn’t believe how easy Kian had done that. He knew Kian was talented at both writing and playing but today had shown him just how good he was. The tears welled up again in Mark’s eyes, escaping easily once more and Kian took a finger and wiped them away.

“Why are you crying?” Kian asked

“It’s just I’ve wanted to see that song written to music for a while now. I can’t believe you’ve done that for me” Mark whispered and was given a hug by Kian

“You only have to ask Mark you know that. We’ve worked as a team before and I don’t see why just because I’m with Nicky...” Kian stopped as he felt Mark tense “we can still write songs together. Nothing will change that” Kian continued.

“I just feel so worthless right now Kian. It seems as if everyone else has a good job, a good relationship and I have. Well... nothing” Mark sighed

“Don’t say that Mark!” Kian exclaimed “You have just started a new job and you seem to be enjoying it. We are closer now so can get back to song writing because you are a GOOD songwriter. As far as a relationship goes I got Nicky when I wasn’t looking for someone so there’s no reason why you shouldn’t find someone.”

Chapter 15

"I got Kevin when I wasn't really looking.  We all know how that turned out...  Why is it I can only get together with bastards?  What's wrong with me, Kian?  I really don't get it."  The despair and self-loathing was obvious in the tall lad's voice as he went to stand by the window again, looking out to the now stormy sea.

"There's nothing wrong with you, Mark.  You're the nicest, most sensitive and most talented lad I know, the only thing you lack is self-esteem."

"Great, now I'm a girl!  And ugly!" Mark spat, looking at his reflection in the window glass in disgust.

"Whoa, you lost me.  Where did that come from?" Kian spoke surprised.

"Sensitive - so I'm a girl.  And you didn't say anything about my looks so as not to hurt me so I'm ugly.  Thanks a lot, Ki!"

"You don't have to be a girl to be sensitive.  God, Mark, I envy you for that, really.  Those songs of yours, this one we did just now - I envy your ability to write songs and mmake your listeners feel the emotions going through you.  It's there even more when you sing them yourself.  As for ugly, nothing could be farther from the truth, you're..."

"Do you fancy me?" Mark interrupted, turning to see Kian's reaction.

Kian was taken by surprise by that question: "I...  I...  Mark, I'm with Nicky..."

"So?  What does that have to do with anything?  All I asked was if you fancied me, found me attractive.  I know you're with Nicky, Kian, what change does that make?  It's a simple question, yes or no?"

Now it was Kian's turn to heave a sigh.  "I don't know what to say, Mark...  You're a good-looking lad but I never really looked at you like that.  You're my best friend...  Maybe you should ask Nicky, he might be able to give you an answer..."

"Yeah and what if he says yes just to get his way with me?"  Mark hesitated at the mention of the older blond.  "You heard him about the threesome - I'm not sure I could handle a one-night-stand type thing.  I don't like feeling used, Ki - I'm so scared..."

Kian wrapped his arms around his friend.  "You know he wouldn't do anything you don't want - neither of us would, we care about you, Mark.  Look, if you really don't want to ask Nicky, no problem.  But you shouldn't worry about finding someone, really.  The right person will come along, Mark, I promise you."  Hearing noises downstairs of a table being set he added: "C'mon, get freshened up a bit; I think lunch is nearly ready.  I'll be in the kitchen, ok?"

Mark just nodded and Kian threw him a smile before making his way down the stairs.  Mark himself lingered in the music room just a little bit longer.  Reading back over the music sheets Kian had drawn up for him earlier he folded them and put them in his notebook.  Kian would understand, he just didn't want Nicky to stumble upon them as he had on the old stuff back in Sligo

"Hey," Kian greeted, giving Nicky a quick peck on the lips as he walked into the kitchen.  "Something smells nice here..." he moved over to the stove but Nicky blocked him.

"No peeking!" Nicky grinned wickedly, softly pushing Kian back towards the living room, pushing him against the wall next to the door.  "So how did it go here?  What did I miss?"

"Talked to Mark, put some music to a song he wrote, there was a phone call...  Not much..." Kian grinned mischievously.  If Nicky wanted to know what the phone call had been about, he'd have to beg for it.

Nicky didn't at first seem interested in the phone call though: "How did it go?  The song?  Can you sing it for me?"

"No," Kian spoke, looking down.  "I want to get him to sing it himself - it's too high for me, I can't do it justice.  It might take a while but he needs to get past this stage fright, it's getting too much for him..."

"OK...  What was that about a phone call anyway?  The people from the interview said they'd call sometime soon, was it them?" Nicky changed the subject.

"Hmm...  I don't know if I should tell you," Kian looked up again, his grin firmly back in place.

"Please Kian?  Was it them?  It wasn't bad news was it?" Nicky looked really worried so Kian just laughed and kissed him.

"Would I be grinning so much if it was?  You've got the job you wanted, Nick!  The leisure centre called, they want you to start tomorrow morning."

Nicky's eyes grew big - he hadn't expected to really get the job at the leisure centre but he had to admit it was one he had wanted from the start: "You're joking!  Don't joke!"

"I'm not!" Kian laughed.  "The number's next to the phone, they wanted you to ring them back to confirm whether or not you still wanted the job - after two o'clock when the manager's back," he quickly added as Nicky went rushing into the living room and towards the phone.

Turning back to his lover Nicky picked the younger blond up and swung him around, nearly losing his balance but managing to land them both on the sofa.  "This is the best news I've had in ages!" he exclaimed, kissing his still giggling boyfriend hard to celebrate.

"What did I miss?" Mark asked confused, appearing in the doorway and looking at the scene that was unfolding before him...

Chapter 16

Mark didn’t have time to say anything else as an over-jolly Nicky broke his clinch with Kian and bounded over to him, pulled him into the room and hugged him whilst babbling something Mark couldn’t make out. Kian thought he’d better rescue Mark so got up, pulled Nicky off Mark and pushed him down on a chair. Kian could see the look of relief on Marks’ face.

“What Nicky is trying to say is that he’s got the job at the leisure centre if he wants it and by his current state of mind you can guess he wants the job” Kian laughed

“I guess he’s happy so we better find a way to celebrate then!” Mark said

“First we better get this lunch Nicky has done but forgotten about and then we’d better just wait until he phones then up and accepts before we do anything else” Kian said

Lunch seemed to take ages as Nicky kept looking at his watch and fidgeting like a schoolboy. Kian couldn’t help but love the blond when he got like this but it did mean Mark had to watch his step as Nicky got friendly with everyone when he was like this. So far though Nicky seemed to be focusing his attention on him rather than Mark which Kian thought was at least something.

After lunch Mark offered to clear up whilst Nicky and Kian had a few moments alone. Nicky was still full of it but could see it was almost time to call.

“So what do you reckon then?” Kian asked

“About what?” Nicky said

“Well Mark’s idea of doing something to celebrate” Kian replied

“Well it would have been nice to show Mark our beach” Nicky started “But look at it out there it’s started raining now”

“Well how about we just order in a Chinese or something and have a few beers, after all you don’t want a hangover on your first day do you?” Kian said looking at his boyfriend as he continued to hug him almost to death.

“Sounds great!” Nicky said “And afterwards we could…”

“Don’t forget Mark” Kian warned “Looks like he may be here for dinner as well. We can’t send him home after he suggested we celebrate can we?”

“Spoilsport” Nicky said pouting

Whilst tidying up the kitchen Mark had been trying to think of something he could do for both Kian and Nicky as they had been so good to him. Mark knew the one thing that would cheer them up and that was for him to sing a song – maybe not the one he and Kian had done today but if he could see Kian alone they may be able to do one of their co-written ones.

Mark had butterflies just thinking about what he was thinking but he was determined to do this now…

Chapter 17

"It's two o’clock; I'm going to call them."  Mark laughed as he heard Nicky announce that as soon as the bells of the nearby church rang two.  He had just finished cleaning up the kitchen and took the distraction of the phone-call as his cue to sneak up to the music room.

Hearing laughter from downstairs he felt the loneliness creeping up again.  He knew he had to do this though.  It wouldn't work if he felt pushed in any way so he should really try and get this sorted on his own - even if that meant singing solo and a cappella.  He felt the nerves rushing through his body at the mere thought but also an up until then unknown feeling of excitement made itself felt.

A smile spread over his face and he took out his notebook.  Finding an old poem a melody formed in his head and he started to sing softly, not wanting Kian or Nicky to hear him just yet:

"All I know is what I see

And what I feel inside of me

And though it is confusing me

This is all that I can be

My thoughts and feelings are my own

Like memories of things I've known

They may fade but still somehow

They are still here today, right now

I am so confused tonight

Why can't I just get things right

I feel so cold all through the day

But I keep going, come what may

My thoughts and feelings are my own

Like memories of things I've known

They may fade but still somehow

They are still here today, right now

I just hope someday I might

Somehow learn to get things right

Meanwhile upstream I still row

I know some things I'll never know

My thoughts and feelings are my own

Like memories of things I've known

They may fade but still somehow

They are still here today, right now

Meanwhile upstream I still row

I know some things I'll never know"

Nicky put the phone down and looked at Kian.  "Do you hear something?"

"No, what?"

"Thought I heard something upstairs.  Singing," Nicky looked at Kian confused.

"Maybe Mark's gone upstairs.  Leave him be for a bit and come here," Kian patted the space on the sofa next to him.  Nicky did not need to be told twice and padded over to the couch, cuddling up to his lover.  "I don't think I told you yet, Nicky, but congratulations.  I told you you'd find something..."  Nicky didn't reply, instead softly laid his lips on Kian's in a long tender kiss.

Looking into those beloved sky-blue eyes he brushed a lock of hair out of the way with his hand, then ran that same hand over the soft skin of Kian's cheek.  "Thank you," he simply whispered, pressing his lips against that same soft skin.  Upon seeing Kian's wondering look he explained: "You always believed in me, believed I could do this.  Thank you for that."  Kian just smiled and wrapped his arms around his boyfriend, thankful for the moment of calm.

Chapter 18

Mark had been in the music room for an hour and as much as he tried to sing a capella it just wasn’t working out as well as he hoped. He had to admit it he needed help but it had been so quiet along the corridor in the living room he dared not go and see if he could get Kian to come and help him. Mark sighed; it had all seemed so simple when he thought about it whilst clearing up – he didn’t know why he could get it right.

Back in the living room Kian and Nicky were just cuddled up together on the sofa. Not speaking just occasionally kissing. In fact they had been still so long Kian was getting a cramp.

“Nix” Kian said softly “Could you move a minute I’m getting cramp”

Nicky was almost asleep but moved to let Kian get up.

“I’ll just go check on Mark while I’m up” Kian added and saw Nicky nod and his eyes close once more.

Kian turned on some music for Nicky and went upstairs to the music room. As he got nearer he could hear a soft singing and then cursing and the words start again. Kian knocked on the door before entering. As Kian walked in he could see Mark stomping around the room, cursing himself for being so weak and it should be easy for him to do this even without music so why couldn’t he. Frustrated mark sat on the piano stool and then noticed Kian.

“Shite Kian” Mark exclaimed “I didn’t hear you come in”

“Well I did knock” Kian said with a smile “You do seem a bit preoccupied though. Anything I can help with?”

“Well I knew the one thing I could do as a way of celebration was to sing a song. I was hoping to do it without music but as you may have heard I’m crap” Mark said now almost in tears.

Kian came over and sat next to Mark pulling him into a hug. “Why don’t I play it for you then and see if you get on better that way”

“Would you” Mark asked softly “I didn’t want to ask you after you’ve been so good I just wanted to do something for you too”

“I know” Kian said “And I love you for that Mark but I know you find it a lot easier to sing with music so come on lets see if we can crack this before Nicky wakes up”

For the next hour Kian played and Mark sang and slowly Kian could hear Mark’s voice become more confident and the song her thought was great. At the end of the hour Kian stopped, saying it was time Mark had a break and a drink if he wanted to have any voice left for his debut. Mark smiled and nodded as Kian went to get some drinks.

“I’ll just see if Nicky’s awake whilst I’m out here so won’t be long okay” Kian said as he went out.

Kian went downstairs and into the living room and saw Nicky stretching as he awoke. His hair was messed up from where he’d been laid and he looked so gorgeous to Kian that he had to just go over and kissed those pouting lips that had noticed he was still alone.

“Nice wake up” Nicky sighed sleepily “You still with Mark?”

“Yes” Kian said “I suggest you go have a shower and think about organising the takeaway. I’m just making a drink if you want one and I’ll take a copy of the menu back with me.”

“Oh can’t we just…” Nicky said and saw Kian shake his head

“Look Nicky, I’m working on something with Mark that’s for you so please just give me a bit more time” Kian answered

“Okay but you better make it up to me later” Nicky said winking

“Will do” Kian replied kissing his boyfriend once more before going off to make the drinks. Kian soon returned and dropped a tea off for Nicky and collected the menu.

When Kian got back to the music room, Mark was humming to himself.

“Okay Mark lets get this finished before Nicky gets too nosey and while you’re singing just look at this menu so we can get Nicky on the ordering” Kian said as he placed the drinks down.

Chapter 19

One more try-out and a cup of tea later Mark's nerves had finally calmed down.  "Kian?  If we're going to go through with this it's going to have to be now..."

"OK, just tell me what you want to eat first, I'll get Nicky to order before we call him upstairs."

Taking a proper look at the menu Kian had given him Mark decided on the Chicken Chow Mein and rice: "Oh and Ki?  Could you get Nicky to order us some prawn crackers as well?"

"Was already planning on that, me and Nicky both love those," Kian just grinned.  Walking into the corridor he saw Nicky just going down the stairs, his hair still wet from the shower and not yet styled.  Hurrying after his boyfriend he wrapped his arms around the older blond just as they both reached the bottom of the stairs with a fraction of a second between them.  "You weren't spying on us were you?"

Turning in Kian's arms Nicky faced his lover with a mischievous grin: "Now would I dare do such a thing?  No honestly, I've just taken a quick shower as you said; I did not come near the music room.  Could hear the music though - sounds good."

"Sounds even better with Mark singing.  That's why he'd snuck upstairs; he'd wanted to do a song for us..."

"Seriously!?" Nicky shouted incredulously.

"Shh, keep your voice down.  And try not to act too excited, he might get nervous again, high expectations and all that," Kian explained.  "Anyway, I figured we'd best order our food first.  Can you call them?"

Nicky didn't reply, just untangled himself from Kian's arms and walked into the living room where the phone stood.  "What do you want then?" he asked Kian as he dialled the number.

"Well Mark wants Chicken Chow Mein and I'll have the regular, both with rice."

"Crackers too?" Nicky asked, getting a nod from Kian in response as the phone was answered on the other side.  "Good evening, could I have a Chicken Chow Mein, Sweet and Sour Pork and one of your Beef and Mushroom dishes?  Yes, with rice for both of those please.  Extra rice with the Chow Mein?"  Nicky looked at Kian who was shaking his head.  "No thanks, just for the two others," Nicky replied into the phone.  "Could I have some prawn crackers too?  For three.  OK thank you very much."

"It'll be here in half an hour," he then told Kian.

"You want to go upstairs then?" Kian asked.  "Before Mark's nerves start playing up again..."  Nicky nodded and the pair made their way up to the music room.

Chapter 20

Kian entered the music room first and saw Mark pacing up and down by the window. Nicky came in quietly and sat down on a chair not too far from the door. Kian went over to Mark and tapped him on the shoulder making him jump.

“You ready the takeaway won’t be too long” Kian said softly and Mark just nodded the nerves clearly showing on his face. “You just come over to the piano and stand with you back towards the door” Kian suggested in the hope that if Mark wasn’t looking at Nicky he may forget he was there.

Mark could see why Kian was suggesting that and just did as he suggested. Kian settled himself on the stool in front of the piano and looked at Mark for a sign to start. Mark nodded after taking a sip of water that had been brought up earlier. Kian began to play and Mark made a stuttery start to the song, looking at Kian all the time for encouragement. Kian smiled at Mark to show he was doing fine and Nicky kept his distance quietly listening to Mark sing. Nicky thought the song was beautiful and it took all his effort not to move closer.

Kian glanced over at Nicky and could see he wanted to come closer so after looking at Mark once more, who was slowly gaining in confidence Kian nodded at Nicky to say he could come closer. Nicky slowly stood up and made his way over, still keeping out of Mark’s sight until he stood by the piano. At that moment Mark turned and could see the look of awe on Nicky’s face. Mark blushed but managed to get to the end of the song. Nicky applauded and came over and gave Mark a hug.

“Thank you Mark that was amazing, you are amazing” Nicky said

Mark just blushed. Kian laughed and stood up giving Mark a hug too.

“See I knew you could do it” Kian announced just as the doorbell rang.

Nicky rushed off downstairs to answer the door whilst Kian and Mark made their way downstairs and into the dining room.

Chapter 21

"I still can't believe you liked the song," Mark spoke in-between two bites of his Chicken Chow Mein.

"Oh but we didn't like it Mark," Nicky spoke, a mischievous grin spreading on his face as he ate some rice.  Seeing the look on Mark's face turning sad he quickly added: "We didn't just like it, we loved it!"

That comment succeeded getting the grin back on Mark's face and he blushed, looking down at his plate.  After a few moments, still not taking his eyes off his food he spoke up: "You know, all I've ever really wanted was to get my songs heard.  I feel I owe you a thank you.  Thanks for listening and giving them a chance, giving me a chance."

Kian reached for Mark's hand.  "You don't have to thank us for that, Mark.  Really.  We should thank you for sharing something so beautiful with us."

"It wasn't that good," Mark spoke, his shyness kicking in again as he carefully pulled his hand away from Kian.  "Just a little something I had that I changed around a bit."

"No Mark, Kian's right," Nicky spoke up.  "You're so talented; I bet some people would pay loads for your songs.  I know it's hard for you to think about, Mark, but at least give it a try.  I bet if Kian asked Louis..."

"No," Mark shook his head.  "I can't.  Someone else singing my songs - no.  They couldn't possibly understand how I felt when I wrote it.  It wouldn't be right."

"Then what about - and please don't get angry with me for suggesting this, but - what about singing your songs yourself?" Nicky suggested.  Seeing from the look on Mark's face that he was about to argue and from the warning in Kian's eyes that he was on thin ice, he quickly continued: "I don't mean right now.  But Mark, you've taken such a big step today, only two days ago you wouldn't even think about singing for me.  Maybe in time...  I don't know; it's just a suggestion.  But please Mark, at least give it a thought.  I'm sure it'll be fine..."

"I really don't know.  Nicky I know you mean well but I really don't know..."  Mark heaved a sigh.  "I'm just going to get a drink, does anyone want one?" he stood up, his hands slightly shaking with held-back emotions.  Both Kian and Nicky asked for a beer, which was exactly what Mark had in mind for himself so he went off to the kitchen in search of three beers.

"What was that all about?" Kian hissed at Nicky as soon as Mark had disappeared from sight.

"I just wanted to help.  He's so good, Kian and you heard him: he wants to get his songs heard.  It was just an idea..."

"OK, fine, but just be careful, yeah?"  Nicky nodded to that and took another bite of his beef.

"Here you go," Mark spoke as he returned from the kitchen, handing each of the blonds a bottle.

"Mark?  I...  I'm sorry," Nicky spoke.

"Don't be.  It's OK.  It was a good idea, it's just...  I don't know, I'm just scared I suppose," Mark confessed.

"Don't worry about it," Kian spoke, putting his arm around his long-time friend.  "We have all the time in the world."

"Speaking of time, I guess I'd better get home, I'm working tomorrow," Mark said.  "When's the next bus?"

About ten minutes later the trio stood in the hallway.  "Thanks for the weekend, lads. Meant a lot to me," Mark smiled, putting on his jacket.  Hugging Kian tightly he whispered: "Thank you so much for all your help."  Then, turning to Nicky he slightly hesitated but as Nicky opened his arms and smiled, it was all Mark could do to hug him.  "Good luck with the new job, mate, let me know how it goes."

"I will.  Now go on before you miss your bus.  I'll call you when I'm back tomorrow."

As Mark walked out into the crisp evening air he turned back one last time for a small wave at his friends.  Then he walked on, rounding the corner to get to the bus stop.  As he sat down, he heaved a sigh.  Nicky was probably right, it was time to move on...

As Kian turned around Nicky grinned: "Finally alone..."

Chapter 22

Kian had almost forgotten his promise earlier about making it up to Nicky but it was obvious Nicky hadn’t.

“Now about how you can make it up to me” Nicky started as he pushed Kian against the wall and kissed him hard. “I know I have work in the morning but if you’re up for something a bit different than we usually do…” Nicky continued pouting.

Kian looked worried as they hadn’t yet gone all the way as far as sex was concerned and he wasn’t sure he was ready for that just yet.

“What exactly do you have in mind?” Kian asked apprehensively

Nicky could see the worried look on his boyfriends face. “Don’t worry Kian I’m not going to make love to you but if you wanted to make love to me I’d be up for it” Nicky started “But I was thinking more or a little game, me tied up and blindfolded and you teasing me something like that?” Nicky continued.

Kian looked almost relieved and even though Nicky had said he could make love to him he still wasn’t too sure. Kian did like the sound of being able to tease Nicky though and a small smile appeared on his face.

“I take it that’s a yes then” Nicky beamed and pulled Kian upstairs to their room. Nicky got something that Kian could use to tie him up and blindfold him. “If you want any other stuff you’ll have to get it yourself” Nicky said as he pulled Kian close and kissed him.

Kian was already thinking what he might use to tease Nicky and this worried him slightly as they didn’t very often play games like this. Nicky saw a wicked glint in Kian’s eye followed by a worried look and went to reassure him it was okay.

“I can tell you like the idea” Nicky whispered as he began to undress Kian. “You can use whatever you want I know you won’t hurt me” Nicky continued as he removed Kian’s t-shirt and jeans leaving him in only his boxers.

“It just seems a bit well seedy” Kian started as he removed Nicky’s t-shirt and jeans. “I feel like I shouldn’t be getting excited over wanting to tease you” Kian added.

“Don’t be” Nicky said taking one of Kian’s nipples into his mouth and sucking it making Kian moan.

“Hey” Kian said his voice sounding a little hoarse “I’m the one playing not you”

Nicky let the nipple slip from his mouth and pushed Kian onto the bed “But you need to relax a bit so let me relax you first” Nicky replied kissing his way from Kian’s ear right down to his obvious bulge, sucking the bulge through Kan’s boxers and feeling Kian thrust into his mouth.

Returning to Kian’s mouth Nicky whispered “That’s better. Now your turn to show me how you make it up to me”

Kian shuddered as he removed Nicky’s boxes and grabbed the stuff to tie Nicky and fixed his hands loosely to the headboard. Then taking the other cloth he tied it across Nicky eyes after first waiting for Nicky to nod. Kian then stood back and looked at the sight before him. Nicky lay naked and bound on the bed.

“I’ll be back in a moment” Kian said as he went to the kitchen to get some ice cubes. Placing them in a bowl, he quickly went back to Nicky who was still laying there still.

“You’ve not fallen asleep have you?” Kian asked

“No” Nicky said “Just want you” he added and looking at the very hard cock Kian could see he was loving this.

Kian started by kissing Nicky from head to toe avoiding the one place he knew Nicky wanted his mouth. He then took one of the ice cubes and rubbed it around one of Nicky’s nipples making him yell in surprise and whisper “Naughty”

After the cold Kian sucked the nipple with his warm mouth and repeated the treatment on the other. Nicky started to squirm “So nice Kian but I want more”

Kian took another ice cube and rubbed it along the length of Nicky’s cock making it jump and twitch and then he took Nicky’s length in his mouth ushering a groan from Nicky. Kian sucked Nicky until he could feel he was getting close and then let it slip from his mouth.

“Kian” Nicky whispered “Need you so much, love you so much, make love to me”

Kian could tell the love in Nicky’s voice but was still not sure about this. He let Nicky free and could see how dark his eyes were. Nicky took his fingers and sucked them then started to finger him entrance to prepare himself. Kian hardened more than he thought possible at the sight of his boyfriend preparing himself for him. Reaching over into the drawer he took out some lube and a condom and stroked himself a couple of times.

“Are you sure Nicky?” Kian managed to get out and Nicky pulled Kian down towards him and taking hold of Kian’s cock positioned it at his entrance and pulled Kian slowly down. Kian felt his cock slowly push into Nicky as he was pulled on top of him. When Nicky stopped and kissed Kian he could not believe he felt so close to Nicky.

“Move” Nicky requested and slowly Kian began to thrust in and out. Feeling though it wouldn’t take long for his to come he quicken the pace as Nicky took hold of his cock and pumped it at a similar pace.

Soon two became ones as their orgasms hit together. Kian thrust a few mores times into Nicky and slipped out, falling on top of him exhausted.

“Thank you” Nicky whispered “Now I know how much you love me…”

Soon after the two were asleep, knowing that their love was now on a new level…
