| 5/8/05: Final page update: The last few SG shows were great. Thanks to everyone for coming out. To those who didn't, go fuck yourselves. Same goes to all the people that were so kind as to return emails and phone calls concerning booking over the last few months. You more than guarantee that the good people of the Camel City will get to see the same shitty bands week after week for the next few years. Here's to variety. All future Slappin Grama updates can be found at our myspace account. Hey, its free, fucko. Shirts are gone. There's still a few cd's left, and there might be one final recording available. Thanks again, I'm out of here to Arkansas at the end of the month. Dave and Elmon will still be around. -SubwayScott Emails: Dave, Scott, Elmon. 4/10/05: It looks like the final SG show will be at Rubber Soul on Sunday, May 1st. Theres a slight chance that someone else might finally respond to our requests to play again somewhere else, but I really doubt it. Details about the show (along with the "secret" show on April 15th) will be forthcoming on our myspace page. 3/26/05: Elmon is back. Scott is leaving. That is right my friends, SubwayScott is moving to Little Rock, this will likely spell the end of the Grama. We're hoping to do a final show, so if you know anyone who does booking in the Camel City, please tell them what nice guys we are. If it happens, all the SG merch will be going out the door. Thats right kids, We've got lots of shirts and cd's and shit like that and it'll be free as can be, while it lasts. As soon as we've got a date, it'll be posted here, at MySpace, or on fliers all over town. In other news, we recorded 2 new songs in the basement the other day. They're called Curse of the Mummy and Cindy is a Guy. They will soon become classics, I assure you. We also recorded new versions of Goats and SG Stomp with SubwaySarah doing vocals. You go girl. Oh yeah, and I'm damn well aware that I never got around to fixing the links page, and now I probably won't. BUT, if you wanna check out one of the most rocking bands I've heard in some time, click on this. 3/7/05: Elmon should be back soon, and to say he should be back soon, means just that--soon, like hopefully the end of the month. Two new songs are currently being worked on. I can assure you that they're the best songs we've written since the last one we wrote before them. For the time being you can no longer get free Slappin' Grama greatest hits cd's at Borders, only directly from Dave or Scott. Borders will have them again when I say so. There a few new old pictures up at our myspace account, but you must be a member of the interwebs newest online popularity contest in order to see them. Signup is free, jackass. 2/1/05: BREAKING NEWS Elmon will be back in March, which means we'll likely be able to play live again. Hell yeah. 1/20/05: I posted "We're Slappin' Grama Bitches" on garageband today, and it'll be inching up to the middle of the pack in no time. Oh, and the listing will say "we're Slappin Grama Bitches", because I'm a dumbfuck and I forgot the N. You can check its progress along with reviews here. 1/10/05: I posted a new song at myspace.com today. It's called Elmon is a Wimp, and for those of you who aren't familiar, it is indeed a cover of an old Queers tune (and a bout 50 other bands have also done it). Also, from here on, all the greatest hits discs have the unlisted bonus track of We're Slappin' Grama Bitches. Just thought I'd let the two people that look at site know... 1/5/04: The history page, which had been deleted, is now back up. It's the same as before, with the exception of the pictures being deleted. Also, I made my car payment today. 1/3/05: Happy new year to all. Wanna hear some new Slappin Grama? Well you can find it here. Dave wrote this new one entitled "We're Slappin Grama Bitches" a few weeks ago, and we've been tweeking it down in the workshop ever since. Yes, I know its a rough mix, but if you'd like to send us some money for a real studio, just let me know. (We also recorded a rockin' cover of Gn'R's "Patience, that won't be up for a few days. I still need to put some backing voc's on it, so stay tuned). The other tune is us rockin' "The Fighting Dancer" live. unheard until now. I've just recently heard from Elmon, and he's doing well in Florida. He'll be back in a few weeks to visit, and we'd like to do a show, but I'm sure that the fine venues of the Camel city will keep us rocking in the workshop, and the workshop only. Oh yeah, you can probably find some old sound files here. Keep those emails comin'!-Scott |
