The Maroon Bells Traverse

Above:  Kelly Starts down N Maroon in a tricky (but pretty) dihedral
Below:  Me somewhere on the traverse with Snowmass and Capitol in the background
Above:  Kelly on one of the only true ridge sections, FUN! (Some Photoediting done)
Below:  Kelly coiling up the rope after our short rappel.  We found this to be the crux of the traverse and rapelled the section for expediency and since we had brought the rope.  There was a down/up climb in a steep dihedral just above where the climber is in this picture.  ( We saw a large party doing this downclimb later but they were going really slow)  It it possible to do the traverse without a rope but one should be familiar with the route or strong technically (as well as route finding) or both.
Above:  Kelly starting to climb up S Maroon from the lowpoint in the traverse.  This section was somewhat exposed but relatively solid.
Below:  Me (Dan M.) on the summit of S. Maroon with N. Maroon behind me on left.  We descended the S. ridge route which was very long but I didn't find overly difficult (perhaps since we had just done the traverse and I was in "alpine mode")  Kelly had done this route and I was glad to be with him as he knew where to leave the ridge etc.  It would be a tricky onsight descent, but possible.
