No Kathy today. She has something or other that I am sure she told me about in great detail at sometime or another that I ignored like everytime and now. So, let's do a tribute to Kathy. Hehe. Hell no! Just kidding. Let's not even talk about Kathy because I am enjoying the peace and quiet.

We got Apple Juice in the kitchen today at work. It definitely beats the other choices they have for beverages: Pineapple-Orange-Banana Juice, Cranberry Juice, Tomato-Cranberry-Pineapple juice, whatever. I am
strongly opposed to the miscegenation of fruit juices. Let's keep our pineapples and oranges and strawberries and raspberries and for god's sake that slut cranberry AWAY from each other, folks! It is just wrong on so many levels I stopped counting.

I have so much housework to do when I eventually get home tonight. I have been procrastinating forever cleaning up the apartment. Since I am the only one who ever cleans, the apartment has been trashed beyond belief. But, procrastination is not a vice. Never put off until tomorrow, that which can be avoided all together.
This is my memorial page to Buffy. It's the Buffy Season and Series finale tonight. I am sooooo sad! I'm gonna have to get a life on Tuesday nights now. Oh well, there is always Angel. I just bought all the Angel VCDs (since I've never watched Angel) so I can catch up before the new fall Season starts and know what's going on. Trading one addiction for another. Real Life, which some people really like but I don't seem to have a talent for.

I've already read the script for the finale. I've already read all the wildfeeds available. And, sad to say, this episode sounds sucky. Not only that, nothing is tied up. Nothing is concluding. Everything is left dangling. There are plot threads so dangling that they are getting irritating and annoying and you keep pulling at them and pulling at them and soon the entire sweater gets unraveled and Buffy ends forever. Sorry, the subtext rapidly became text in that metaphor.

Watching Buffy, it was like "we tried to find our souls and lose the innocence that won't let go, so now we crossed the line and can't turn back. Happy endings never last because there's always more stories never told." I don't know. I think my obsession started just because the writing is so bloody brilliant. The words, the turn of phrase, the jokes, so very clever.

In a 1999 essay, Adams wrote that Buffy "coins slang terms and phrases in nearly every  episode, many of them formed in the usual ways, some of them at the crest of new formative tendencies, and some of them interesting, not only lexically, but morphosyntactically." I wish I knew what some of those words meant. Heh.
