The name "Kathy" comes from a Buffy episode where Buffy is at college and she has a roommate from hell. Literally, she's a demon. Her roommate listens to Cher all day long and is selfish with her food and is annoying and loud and invasive and everything you can imagine a bad roommate is like, except amplified by 1000.
Well, my coworker fits that description pretty accurately. She listens to this Scottish radio station, not because she is Scottish - because she isn't, but because she wishes she were, or something. This ain't no ordinary radio station either. It plays rap, country, classical, new age, etc.... more random-ass shit than I listen too. And half of it isn't even any good, either! She likes to have the lights off and the door shut to the office.

For lunch, she never leaves her desk. But, sure as shit, if any of us go out for lunch, she wants us to pick her up something too.

She talks non-stop and won't let me get any work done. She always tries to join in. Like Happy Hour! Heh, well, she's not invited. She commandeers work from the rest of the department and doesn't share very well.
So, I started the name calling. Not the bad name calling. Well, technically, Kathy is a bad name to us. But not the "dumb bitch" type name calling. Erm, anyway. I suggested Kathy after, of course, Buffy. And it stuck.
