My band stories are probably the only of my original fiction currently available online; all my other online written works are fan fiction. And no, I don't consider band stories fan fiction because I don't write them because I'm a fan of band; I write them because I'm in band, am a crazy band nerd, and can't resist thinking of really weird band scenarios that sooner or later evolve into stories. There's no point in keeping them to myself where no one would read them, and I don't think them good enough for professional publication. Maybe one day in the future I might consider it, but until then, I'm dumping my stories online.
I know most of the following haven't been completed or even started yet, but I'll probably write them sooner or later when I have the time.
The revised version of the first two Reed stories are now available online in Adobe Acrobat format here. With a pitiful total of two pictures. If the link doesn't work, just go over to talesfrombandcamp.com, click on 'Downloads', click on 'Fanfic', and then click on 'The Reed'.
The main story series, Round the Bænd, follows the same band (Kent Ridge High Military Band) through about six years - one story for each year with the exception of The Reed 3. It basically revolves around several strange incidents which happen to that band, one consisting of people with remarkably low IQ levels. Musicphiles is the second series, which I haven't started writing yet. As for what it is about, think The Chronicles of Narnia and Everworld bandified. Until then, these are the summaries for my current and proposed band stories.
ROUND THE BÆND SERIES
THE REED: THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE REED
The Reed was no ordinary oboe reed. Forged in the fires of Mt. Melo, it held the power to make its player the best oboist in the world. Not only that, but it also had the ability to replicate itself; putting an end to the need for bands to pay lots of money for the purchase of reeds... for they would need only one. But everything has a dark side to it. The Reed had, in its creation, attained a level of intelligence; and along with it certain murderous tendencies. After it took the lives of two oboists and looked all set to take more, the band decided that it had to do something about it. Thus the Fellowship of The Reed was formed - comprising of Joel, Jeslyn, Martyn, Charis, David, Ian and Ariel. Their job: To remove all traces of The Reed... before it removes them.

THE REED 2: THE REED STRIKES BACK
One Reed was destroyed in the fires of Mt. Melo; but it's replica survived, and was determined to have its revenge. The only ones who can stop it are those of the Fellowship - now with two new members, Lucas and Jamie - but The Reed has grown smarter, stronger, more deranged, and even they too are afraid.

THE REED 3: THE RETURN OF THE REED
Two hundred years from the events of the first Reed, its predecessor was uncovered at an archaeological dig where it had lain dormant through the years, unable to escape, waiting. Janson the oboist found it a few days later in the trash at the National Museum of Music and decided to take it with him... unaware of the dangers the small object possessed. It was not long, however, before The Reed began to strike again; and Janson knew he had to destroy it, while at the same time avoid the searching eyes of Selvin, one of the archaeologists who had found it... and would stop at nothing to get his 'Precious' back in his hands.

PLAY TO THE FUTURE
It was just a flute, left unattended in the band room. Kenneth said that it was a time machine his uncle had invented; but none believed him, least of all Martyn. And then one day while the band was off in the field, Alexis, the not-too-smart new flautist-turned-oboist who was late as usual, stumbled upon the flute... an instrument she had been forbidden to touch for a long time. She played it - unaware that its destination time had already been set - just as Martyn entered the room about to stop her. Before she knew it, Alexis had transported herself and Martyn back five years into the past, into a crucial time for the band: the 2001 band competition, and messed things up to such an extent that history was drastically changed and the band's Gold medal almost lost...

JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF THE TUBA
Kenneth's uncle's latest invention was the shrinking machine. Naturally everyone thought it would be a great asset for the band, for no longer would they need to lug big and heavy instruments all over the place. And it was. That is, until a small accident occurred and the machine misfired - straight at Charis, Spencer, Lucas, Asher, Alexis and Emily...

THE BAND-MATRIX
Ever since he joined the band that year, Ethan had had the feeling that something was not quite right. It wasn't the people, it wasn't the music, and it wasn't the abnormally frequent band practices or even the Reed deaths of three years before. He just knew something was wrong. And all his fears were confirmed one day when he was contacted by a mysterious person and offered the chance to find out the truth... it all wasn't real. And neither was he.

ROUND THE FIELD IN EIGHTY SECONDS
The new band major was evil. Until he was elected, no one had ever thought it possible that any one would make them do a thousand pushups or run a hundred laps around the school field. But this band major made them do all that, willing to stop on only one condition - that someone complete a round of the vast field in 80 seconds or less. The siblings Kaitlyn and Keith decided that they would make it, somehow, and thus free the band from the tyranny of the band major... but it wasn't as easy as they thought it would be.
