No SHOTGUNS around the house...........
Who needs a shotgun when you LIVE IN ONE!!! These small, usually frame homes have been an architectural style for centuries.
Built to fit a small narrow lot or a small narrow budget they were one room wide and two or more rooms deep.  Nicknamed "shotgun" because a shot fired in the front door would exit through the backdoor.  This nicely preserved unit is at 22nd and Colorado.
The ongoing mystery of MESA RD
If you've read page one you already know a little about the mysterious estate at 1065 Mesa Road.  Many urban myths surround it and nearly everyone I know has a nodding acquaintance with the property.

My research reveals that the home was built by a member of the Hagerman family who owned Out West Publishing.  It's recent owner David Llewellyn  was the son of Captain WH Llewellyn of Wales and Elinor HAGERMAN Llewellyn. David married Gai Wroten in 1962.   The Hagerman name persists.   Both Mr. and Mrs Llewellyn are recently deceased.
Mr. Llewellyn passed in August 2006, with his wife passing the following January.  Their obituaries reveal that both were Renaissance style with a love of nature and the outdoors. Mr. Llewellyn was a geologist, boxer, archer, judo and track star and deeply involved in ethical wildlife issues.  Much of this suggests why the Llewellyn (Hagerman) home is so wooded, so wild and such an arboreal retreat for living things.  Often referred to as the "woodpecker preserve" it sits hauntingly empty today, owned by the Llewellyn Family Trust.  As more information becomes available (perhaps from YOU) I'll expand this listing.  If you decide to see the home please observe the stern "NO TRESPASSING" signs as I have.
