The 323 was introduced by Mazda
Motor Corporation in the 1977. This was the very first model
of the 323 series. It belonged to fourth generation of the
existing Mazda Familia. The 323 was known to be as Mazda Familia
in the Japan, however in the USA, it was known to be as Mazda
GLC. GLC stands for Great Looking Car. Indeed this was a great
looking Car, better looking than the comparable Toyota Corollas
at that time.
These rare wheel vehicles were offered as
Hatchbacks and Wagons (Estate Cars). The interior was quite
simple. The Standard cars were not offered with any accessory.
However the Deluxe versions were equipped with Heater, AM
Radio, Clock, Seat Belts, Rear Defroster, HB Opener and Rare
Wipers. The Sports and Two door versions of the car were further
equipped with Tachometer, Head lamp washers and Radial Tires.
Features like Air-Conditioner, Power Windows, Power Locking
and Stereo system were never offered in this Car.
