| These pictures show you a little more about Korea. The picture above is Pomunsa Temple near Seoul. This is what your average Buddhist temple looks like. Many of these temples have been here for hundreds of years, but have undergone renovation since the Korean War. The border between North and South Korea is considered to be the most fortified border in the world. It is four km wide and 248 km long, surrounded by tanks and electric fences, virtually sealed off to all human beings for the last fifty years. There is hope if Korea unites as one, that this area will remain undeveloped due to the fact it is home to a wide variety of rare wildlife. |
