Buffy held up the dress she had been working on for the last nine days. It was finished and perfect. She was almost tingly from all the herbal baths and fresh natural foods she had been eating. Joyce was watching Buffy. Buffy had such a natural healthy glow about her she seemed to almost shine.

Meanwhile Angelus himself had been going through his own purification rituals. He took herbal baths and drank only the purest of blood. Lorne had been a big help in procuring the blood he needed.

Angelus had also been busy getting the mansion ready for his bride. Spike was about to climb out of his skin with all the things Angelus had him doing.

Other vampires had quiet literally fled Sunnydale to get away from Angelus.

Giles, Willow and Tara had been preparing the site where the wedding was to take place. It was in the woods just to the east of Sunnydale. There was a place of intense magic in the woods. After clearing away all the brush and other trash they had formed a protective circle around the area.

The Mage who was to perform the ceremony was staying with Giles since they were old friends. The Mage was behind the bonding between Angelus and Buffy. He too had heard of a prophecy where a force of darkness would bond with a force of light and together they would bring a time of unity between the two worlds of evil and goodness.

Willow entered the Summers home she found Joyce sitting at the dining room table, "Hey Mrs. Summers where is Buffy?"

Joyce smiled, "Hello Willow she is upstairs."

Willow nodded, "Thanks."

Upstairs Willow found Buffy sitting on her bed reading through some papers Angelus had sent. She glanced up at Willow and smiled.

Buffy: "Hey girl what's up?"

Willow smiled, "Got just about everything ready for tomorrow night. I am here to prepare your last meal of the day. Remember after that only water until after the ceremony."

Buffy nodded, "I am going to be so hungry by then."

Willow laughed, "Yeah Angelus also has to fast. But after the ceremony we go to his place and feast. He is really going all out for that."

Buffy grinned, "I can just imagine. He is so sweet it's hard to believe who and what he is."

Willow sighed, "Yeah he has been real nice to Tara and me. I think even Giles is starting to like him. And oh Xander may not be Angelus' number one fan but Anya has reported that he is more understanding. It's probably not getting any that swayed him to change his tune."

Buffy giggled, "Probably."

Buffy sighed and stretched, "I will be so glad when this is over."

Willow nodded, "Yeah and oh Angelus has been getting his place fixed up for you."

Buffy sighed, "I know Mom has been over there this week a lot helping him out."

Willow laughed, "I was there one day and you should have heard them the poor guy with the drapes looked like he wanted to cry."

Buffy laughed, "Don't know what is scarier sounding the Scourge of Europe or my Mother."

Both girls laughed at the idea. Willow stood up, "Gotta of fix your last meal for the day."

Buffy nodded, "Just yell when you are done."

Willow smiled at Buffy as she turned and left the room. Buffy lay back and closed her eyes.

Part 34

Buffy stood in front of her mirror. She was ready for the bonding ceremony. The dress flowed gently around her figure. It fell to just her ankles. Sleeves were long and loose. A slight scoop neck. She had trimmed the neckline with the lace. Also she had the lace just under the bodice framing her shape. Lace trimmed the hem and sleeves.

Her hair flowed to her shoulders. She had a crown of tiny white roses woven with white ribbon. She had gasped when Tara opened the box she was carrying when she arrived. She had never seen such tiny white roses before.

Her shoes were a soft kid leather dyed white. Buffy turned and looked at the back of her dress. Cordelia stood in the door way.

Cordelia with a smile, "You look perfect. Beautiful."

Buffy smiled, "Thank you."

Willow came into the room, "Spike called he will be here in a few minutes with the limo to pick us up. You ready?"

Buffy nodded, "I am."

Willow was wearing a dress of soft blue velvet. Blue flowers were woven into her hair.

Joyce called out from the hallway, "Spike just got here."

Buffy picked up the cloak she was to wear. Cordelia and Willow helped get it on. The three girls went downstairs. Joyce was waiting for them. She looked lovely in a dark rust colored dress of silk.

Spike stood just outside the door, "Ready ladies?"

Joyce smiled, "We are."

Spike looked Buffy over. He could tell she was glowing as much if not more than Angelus. He couldn't believe the things that his grand sire had gone through this week just to take this little thing as a mate.

He led Buffy, Joyce, Willow, Tara and Cordelia out to the limo, "Cordelia can sit in front with me."

Carefully Buffy and the others got in the car. Spike made sure all was settled as he got in. He slowly took off.

Meanwhile Angelus had already arrived at the site for the ceremony. Giles and the Mage were already there. Several vampires were scattered around making sure that there would be no interruptions.

Doyle with Xander and Anya arrived. Xander watched Angelus closely. Anya nudged Xander and gave him a very meaningful look.

They heard the limo as it arrived in the parking area nearby. Doyle hurried over to where the car was to be parked. He helped the girls get out of the car. He smiled at Cordelia who was dressed in a blue satin dress that clung to her. Doyle escorted her to the magic circle. Tara was going around and lighting the candles for the ceremony. Chanting softly with each one.

Those not directly involved in the ceremony stood just outside of the outer circle. The Mage had taken a position near a huge flat rock in the middle of the inner circle. Giles, Joyce, Spike and Angelus stood just outside the inner circle waiting to step into it.

The Mage nodded his head and they entered the circle. The Mage looked over at Doyle. Doyle went and told Willow and Buffy that they could now join the others. He helped her off with the cloak. Willow fixed any little wrinkles. Doyle held onto the cloak as he joined Cordelia, Xander and Anya.

Willow led Buffy to the circles. Buffy stopped just outside the inner circle she looked up and smiled, "May I enter?"

The Mage nodded, "Do so if you wish to proceed."

Buffy stepped into the circle. She felt a rush of power. Giles stepped forward and led her to Angelus' side.

Angelus was dressed in black pants only, his chest bare. Buffy's white gown seemed almost sheer and glimmery in the candle light.

To Angelus' right was Spike. To Buffy's left was Willow. Giles stood behind Angelus and Spike. Joyce stood behind Buffy and Willow. Tara stood near the Mage as his assistant.

The Mage dressed in a black robe recites the terms and conditions of the bonding:

"To bond to one another you must understand that this will be a lifetime commitment. This ceremony is not to be taken lightly. If either party wishes to not go through with it speak now."

Buffy glanced at Angelus and smiled. He smiled back. The Mage nodded his head.

Mage looked to the sky then back at those gathered before him, "Does the guardians of the girl bless this union?"

Joyce took a deep breath, "Yes."

Giles sighed, "Yes."

The Mage nodded, "So be it the girl is now free to take Angelus as her mate. Does anyone have objections to this union?"

When no one spoke up the Mage continued.

He turned to Angelus, Do you understand Angelus that you shall belong to Buffy and no other. That you will see to her needs and wants. That you shall harm her not and to see to it that no others bring harm to her. To take her to be your mate and to take no other as a mate. Do you Angelus accept these conditions?"

Angelus bowed his head and answered, "I accept these terms and conditions. I take Buffy as my mate now and for a lifetime however long that be."

The Mage turns to Buffy and speaks, "Do you Buffy take Angelus as your mate. To see to his needs and wants. To belong to him and no other. That you shall not harm him or allow others to bring harm to him. To take him unto your body and soul and to know no other this way. To be with him for a lifetime from this time forward? Do you Buffy accept these conditions?"

Buffy bowed her head, "I accept these terms and conditions to take Angelus as my mate now and for a lifetime no matter how long that be."

The Mage turned to Tara and took a small, thin, sharp knife from her. She held a huge goblet of silver and gold out.

The Mage turned to Angelus, "Please hold out your left wrist."

Angelus did as asked. The Mage made a thin slit and blood dripped into the goblet as Tara held it under his wrist. When the Mage thought enough blood was in the goblet her turned to Buffy.

Mage: "Hold out your left wrist."

Buffy shook a little as she did. The Mage cut a thin slit in her wrist. The blood dripped into the goblet. It blended with Angelus'.

Tara placed the goblet on the huge flat rock. The Mage waved his hands over it. He sprinkled some silvery dust into the goblet. Next he took a bottle from Tara. He poured a dark liquid into the goblet. The contents hissed slightly.

Picking up the goblet the Mage turned to Angelus, "Drink three sips only."

Angelus took the goblet and took the three sips. Fire seemed to flow through him. The Mage took the goblet from Angelus and turned to Buffy.

Mage: Take three sips only."

Buffy almost smiled as she took the goblet. She took three sips. She too felt as if fire was flowing through her.

The Mage took Buffy's hand in his. Next he took Angelus'. He held the two hands together and chanted.

Angelus and Buffy felt as if they were floating. All they could see was each other. Light swirled around and through them.

The Mage finished chanting. He released their hands. Their fingers were laced together still. The Mage nodded before speaking again.

Mage: "These two are now bonded as one. They shall know no other. Her soul flows through him and his demon is now part of her. This union is blessed by all who has witnessed it. This union is bless by the gods of darkness and the gods of light. To bring harm to one will bring harm to the other. So be it from this day forward."

Angelus blinked and stared at Buffy. She blinked and smiled at Angelus. He reached out and pulled her into his arms. He bent down and gently kissed her. Buffy wrapped her arms around Angelus as she returned the kiss.

Part 35

After the ceremony Tara slowly walked around gently blowing out the candles, chanting each time. When she was done the magic keeping the circle closed was released.

Angelus picked Buffy up and carried her to the limo. Spike was there and opened the door for Angelus. Spike handed Angelus a white silk shirt to put on. Everyone had followed. Angelus turned to them and smiled.

Angelus: "Come now it is times to celebrate."

At the mansion Spike opened the car door for Angelus. Angelus helped Buffy out of the car. He swept her up in his arms. Spike stood with the front door of the mansion open. With a wicked smiled Angelus carried Buffy over the threshold.

Buffy was laughing, "Angelus please you can put me down now."

Angelus gently put her on her feet, "Welcome home my love."

Buffy looked around the large front room of the mansion. It was beautiful. It was decorated with silver, gold and white streamers. White roses were everywhere.

Buffy turned to Angelus, "It's perfect. Like a dream come true."

Angelus smiled, "I am pleased that you like it."

The others entered the mansion. Gasps were heard all around. Angelus turned to welcome his guests.

Angelus: "Welcome to our home."

Angelus took Buffy's hand as he said this. Buffy felt as if she was going to cry she was so happy.

Lorne walked up to Angelus, "I see the ceremony came off without a hitch. The dinner you requested is just about ready."

Angelus smiled, "Thank you Lorne for taking care of everything."

Angelus turned to Buffy, "Come let's dance."

Buffy nodded, "I would love to."

As the second song came to an end Lorne clapped his hands, "Everyone dinner is ready to be served."

The doors to a huge dining hall were opened. A long dining table was beautifully decorated. Each guest took their seats.

Angelus led Buffy to a small dais with a table just for them. He pulled out her chair. She smiled at him as she sat down.

Dinner was served. Food of all kinds graced the menu. Food for the humans, Cornish game hens stuffed with wild rice and vegetables were some of the foods. Demons who had specific appetites were given their food of choice. Vampires were served blood.

Toasts to Angelus and Buffy rang out from the guests. Many were secretly glad that Angelus had taken the Slayer as his mate. To them it meant he would not be as big a threat as before the same with her.

Joyce could not believe what some of the guests looked like. Giles could sense her uncomfortableness. He gave her hand a gentle squeeze.

Giles: "Everything is fine Joyce. Most of these guests will be gone soon. You have nothing to fear."

Joyce nodded and smiled at Giles, "Thank you it's just so strange."

Anya who was sitting next to Joyce smiled, "Well to them you seem strange. So don't worry."

Joyce shook her head, "I guess if you say so."

After the dinner. There was more dancing. More toasts. Gifts were presented to Angelus and Buffy. All of which were checked to be sure that they held no hidden surprises.

It was nearing morning. Angelus turned to Buffy and smiled, "Go with Willow and Tara."

Buffy smiled, "Sure. Don't keep me waiting."

Angelus shook his head as he watched Buffy hurry off with her friends. He bade several of his guests good-bye. Spike was making sure everyone who didn't belong were leaving.

Soon the mansion was empty of the guests. Joyce smiled at Angelus as she left with Giles. Anya and Xander had left a little while before the others.

Willow and Tara came downstairs. Willow smiled at Angelus, "Buffy is ready and waiting."

Angelus gave each girl hug, "Thank you for everything."

They both shrugged and smiled at him, "We had fun."

Angelus turned to Spike, "Keep an eye on things."

Spike grinned, "Sure thing."

Angelus hurried up the stairs to Buffy.

Part 36

Angelus stepped into the master bedroom of the mansion. Buffy sat in the middle of the huge, king sized bed. She had the sheet pulled up covering her just a little. Angelus growled as he realized she wore nothing under the sheet.

Buffy stared at him, "Just how rich is just about the richest vampire around?"

Angelus shrugged, "I have lost count of what I have. Don't worry though."

Buffy sat back and glanced around the elegant plane. She felt it take off. Planes taking off was one thing she hated. She gripped the armrest until she felt the plane finally level off.

Angelus smiled, "Not too fond of planes?"

Buffy shook her head, "Just taking off and landing is all."

Angelus unstrapped his seatbelt and stood up, "Come on I made arrangements for a meal to be waiting for you."

Buffy undid her seat belt and let Angelus led her over to a small table. She sat down and smiled as he went into the planes galley. A few minutes later he returned with a plate loaded down with food.

Buffy smiled as she dug into the Shrimp stir fry with rice and vegetables. Angelus sat back and sipped at a large glass of blood. When Buffy had her fill Angelus took the plate back to the galley.

Angelus stepped back into view with a smirk on his face, "Now Buffy come on let's join the mile high club."

Buffy giggled as she went over to him, "Sounds like my kind of plan."

Angelus led her to a small drop down bed already set up for them. Slowly they undressed each other. They climbed into bed. Buffy took very little note of the rest of the flight. She didn't even notice when they landed.

Faith stepped off the bus and looked around Sunnydale. Hadn't changed much since she'd fled. The last time she was here it was graduation day and she hadn't stuck around for the Mayor's ascension. Now here she was back in Sunnydale. The Watcher's Council had ordered her to come. That something major was happening in the small town that sat on the hellmouth. Faith took a deep breath and headed for Giles' condo.

Giles was startled when he opened the door and found Faith standing there. He was very leery of her and her motives for being in town. But with a forced smile Giles opened the door.

Giles: "Faith..my what a surprise ah come on in."

Faith laughed, "Oh why thank you."

Faith strode into the condo and glanced around, "Hasn't changed much if at all."

Giles shut the door with a sigh, "More books since the school is gone. So what brings you to town?"

Faith went into the kitchen and started looking around, "Man give a girl a break. Been on that damn bus forever and am starving."

Giles shrugged, "Look I'll fix you some eggs if you go sit down and explain what's going on."

Faith smiled, "Sure Giles what ever."

Faith plopped down on one the stools, "It's like this the Watcher's Council sent me. They said something big is about to happen. They couldn't figure out what though. Got a clue?"

Giles stirred the eggs he'd poured into a hot skillet, "Buffy got married but I am sure they didn't mean that."

Faith grinned, "B got hitched. Man that is wicked."

Giles finished the eggs. He wasn't going to say much to Faith about Buffy until he knew for sure which side she was on. Giles placed the plate of eggs in front of Faith.

Giles smiled, "I'll get the toast and which would you prefer juice or milk?"

Faith shrugged, "Juice please, the Mayor was always making me drink milk."

Faith polished off the food and sat back. She grinned at Giles a wicked gleam in her eyes.

Faith: "You don't trust me. Can't say I blame you."

Giles nodded, "Faith you're working for the Council and that in itself makes me nervous."

Faith sighed, "Look Giles when I fled here they caught up with me in Texas. Took me to New York to their head quarters there and kept me locked away for almost a year. I thought I was going to go crazy. They let me out simply because they need me. Now I am here. They want me to find out what is happening."

Giles took off his glasses, "So if you find anything out you are obligated to tell them?"

Faith stood up and started pacing, "Yeah. Look if you know anything make it easy on me and tell me. I'll find it out eventually."

Giles gave a thoughtful look before answering, "Fine Buffy married a master vampire by the name of Angelus."

Faith threw back her head and laughed, "Oh Giles do you honestly expect me to believe that little miss righteous married the Scourge of Europe?"

Giles gave a wicked grin, "But Faith I speak the truth."

Faith shook her head, "Fine if you don't want to tell me what is going on I'll find out."

Faith turned and quickly left Giles' condo. He chuckled as he watched her go. He had a feeling she was all bravado. That she'd check out his story.

Faith headed for her old home at the Sunnydale hotel she'd stayed in before. She kept thinking about what Giles had told her. If he did speak the truth she wondered what had happened to Buffy. Why in the world she'd marry Angelus of all vampires.

Part 39

That night Faith dressed in tight black jeans, a deep red camisole top and black boots sauntered into the Bronze. She looked around and spotted Willow with a blonde girl and a bleached, blonde hottie. As approached them she got the vibe of a vampire being near.

Willow looked up and saw Faith. Giles had called and warned her that she was in town. With her best smile Willow greeted Faith.

Willow: "Faith hey. Been a while."

Faith grinned, "Yep. So I guess Giles gave you a warning call."

Willow shrugged, "Of course."

Spike was looking this gal over. She was hot. He bet in bed she'd be one wild ride.

Faith looked the guy over. She was getting strange vibes off him. He was hot though. He'd be good in bed she thought.

Faith smiled, "So Wil, who are your friends?"

Willow put her arm around Tara, "This is Tara my better half and that is Spike he is our body guard sort of."

Faith turned to Spike, "Spike how'd you get that name?"

Spike nodded, "Well, you finally figured it out. What kind of Slayer are you?"

Faith glared at him, "One that will turn you to dust."

Willow spoke up, "Faith ah he is cool. He won't hurt us. He works for Angelus."

Faith swung her attention back to Willow, "Fuck. Giles told the truth then. Buffy married a vampire."

Willow nodded, "Yep that she did."

Spike stood up as music started, "Come on I bet you like to dance."

Faith stared at him, "You...want...to....dance...with...me?"

Spike sneered, "Yeah now come on."

Faith shrugged and laughed as she followed Spike out onto the dance floor. She moved to the music, swaying her hips invitingly. Spike was enjoying the show.

After the dance Faith shook her head, "That was fun. So Angelus and Buffy. Why for both of them that is weird?"

Spike shrugged, "Got me. All I know we come to town he meets up with her and then wham. He didn't fill me in on his plans. But he can't hurt her none they did a bonding rite."

Faith sighed, "Just seems strange to me."

They went back to where Willow and Tara were talking to Lorne. Faith looked him over. Lorne glanced up as Faith walked up with Spike. He gave a slight smiled.

Lorne: "So another Slayer."

Faith nodded, "Yeah so what."

Willow smiled, "Faith this is Lorne he now owns the Bronze and be careful around him he can read auras and such."

Faith stared at the green demon, "OH."

Lorne smiled, "You have to sing for me to get a good reading. "

Faith grinned, "Well, remind me to never sing around you. Look I am going to blow this joint too many demons for my taste."

The small group watched as Faith hurried out of the Bronze. Spike chuckled softly that was one Slayer he wanted to know a whole lot better.

Part 40

Faith strolled boldly through Sunnydale's downtown. She was itching for some action she didn't care what. She paused and glanced around. Vampire near by.

"Hello cutie."

Faith turned, "Spike...I thought I was feeling something dead nearby."

Spike dropped the cigarette he was smoking, "Com' come baby don't be that way. We could have so much fun."

Faith laughed, "You think?"

Spike grinned, "Yeah I do."

Faith shrugged, "In your dreams buddy. Buffy may like boinking the undead but that is so not my gig."

Spike laughed, "Why put it down before you try it? I mean there hasn't been much that you haven't tried at least once."

Faith glared at Spike, "What I have or haven't done is none of your business. Now buzz off before I forget and send you flying off into the wind."

Spike gave an evil grin, "Me thinks the little girl is afraid. She just might find something she likes."

Faith whirled around, "I AM NOT AFRAID OF YOU!!"

A tall, pale woman with pure white hair approached them, "Angelus my dear where have you been?"

Angelus smiled slightly, "Candice I am pleased to see you. May I introduce my wife Buffy."

Candice gave a fake smile, "Wife...my Angelus are you teasing me?"

Angelus shook his head, "No I'm not, Buffy and are bonded I have taken her as my mate. Candice so you'll know her full title is Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

If it was possible for her to get any paler she did, "Slayer? Oh my she is the one from Sunnydale."

Angelus nodded, "The one and only."

Candice turned to Buffy, "Well I am actually honored to meet you. You come with quite a reputation."

Buffy gave a polite smile, "Thank you. I have worked hard for it."

Angelus chuckled, "Buffy this is Candice, our host she is as you may have guessed a vampire. She helps keeps things in order here."

Buffy nodded, "That's good don't want to have to work on my honeymoon."

Candice laughed lightly, "Can't have that. Well enjoy yourselves my dears."

They watched as she walked away. Angelus chuckled softly. Buffy glanced up at him and smiled.

"So she is in charge?"

Angelus nodded, "Yes and she does a good job."

The rest of the party went rather smoothly. A few guests left soon after hearing that Buffy was there. One gentleman talked at length with Angelus.

Later after the party at Angelus' small townhouse Buffy questioned Angelus about the conversation.

Angelus shrugged, "He was asking if you were with child yet. He knows about Slayers and vampires. He is offering his services if they are needed when the child is born. He is a doctor and a mystic."

Buffy frowned, "Oh I see. Who knows I could be."

Angelus stared at Buffy, "Why do you think that?"

Buffy frowned, "Little things not the usual signs but its like I can sense that I am not alone. It's weird how to explain what I am feeling."

Angelus took Buffy into his arms, "This is good news my love."

Buffy sighed, "I know."

Angelus kissed the top of Buffy's head, "We leave for New York in two days I have business to take care of there. Then home to Sunnydale."

Buffy hugged Angelus, "Good I am missing home."

Angelus smiled, "Come on lets go to bed."

Together they went upstairs to the bedroom. Both thinking about how things were changing in their lives.

Part 42

It was getting late when Angelus and Buffy returned to Sunnydale two weeks later. Buffy had fallen asleep on the ride in from the airport. Angelus gently picked her up and carried her inside.

Spike was just coming down the stairs. Angelus glanced at him and gave a small smile.

Angelus in a whisper, "Go open the bedroom door for me and turn down the bed."

Spike shrugged and hurried up the stairs. He watched as Angelus gently laid Buffy down on the bed. Angelus removed her shoes and pulled the covers up over her.

Turning to Spike, "Downstairs."

Spike nodded, "Yeah."

Angelus shut the door behind him. He followed Spike down to front room. He paused near Spike's room he could sense another human and female. Shaking his head Angelus continued on down the hall to the stairs.

Spike was about to light a cigarette when Angelus joined him, "Spike don't smoke in here any more."

Spike stared at him, "Why."

Angelus grinned, "Buffy is with child."

Spike stared in disbelief, "That is impossible you are a vampire and she is a Slayer neither one can make or have kids."

Angelus shook his head, "Well usually that is true but there is an exception to the rule. See a Slayer can only be impregnated by a Master vampire."

Spike gulped, "Do they have to be bonded like you and Buffy?"

Angelus frowned, "No. I bonded with Buffy because I have fallen in love with her."

Spike nodded, "Oh. Um so a baby?"

Angelus nodded, "Yep. I am going to be a dad."

Spike grinned, "Well, that's just swell I guess congrats."

Angelus smiled, "Thanks. So tell me about the girl in your bed?"

Spike shrugged, "Um...ah...she..can...shit she is the other Slayer...Faith."

Angelus chuckled, "Spike you got yourself your own Slayer."

Spike leaned against the fireplace mantle, "Yeah and if what you said was true man we might have two buns in the oven."

Angelus laughed, "Oh great. So when can I meet the little lady?"

Spike snorted, "Lady is not how I'd describe this one and well better warn Buffy they didn't part on the best of terms."

Angelus sighed, "I will. Now other than this Faith anything else going on?"

Spike shook his head, "Been quiet and what problems there was Faith and I took care of it."

Angelus nodded, "Good. Look help me get our things inside. Then we can both join the girls in bed. I am tired for one thing and you need to inform Faith about things."

Spike shrugged, "Yeah sure."

The two vampires carried the luggage and packages in. It took four trips to get everything in.
