Part 19

Angelus glanced over at Buffy and smiled. She had dozed off. Not much further to go and they would be at their destination.

Angelus smiled as he turned onto the road he'd been watching for. He drove along the winding mountain road. He found the drive to the cabin he owned. He had been here only a few times and then alone. Spike didn't even know about the place.

Angelus stopped the car in front of the cabin. Buffy woke up as the car motor died down. She glanced around. She spotted the log cabin. It was a simple one story with a wide front porch.

Buffy smiled, "Nice is it yours?"

Angelus nodded, "Yes I acquired it a few years ago from someone who owed me for a favor I did. It looks rough on the outside but it has all the modern amenities inside."

Angelus got out of the car. He helped Buffy out before getting the bags from the trunk. Buffy followed Angelus onto the front porch. He opened the front door. Reaching inside he turned on the lights.

Buffy smiled when she stepped inside. There was a large living room with a huge fireplace. A kitchen and dining area to one side.

Angelus smiled, "Has three bedrooms one of which is a master suite with it's own bathroom. I'll put our things in the master bedroom then come back out and start a fire. Oh there should be food I called the caretaker this morning."

Buffy wondered into the kitchen area. She found a loaf of bread on the counter. Opening the fridge she sighed. Food and lots of it. Milk, lunch meat, cheese, eggs, veggies, all her favorites.

Buffy got the stuff out to make a sandwich. Angelus stopped for a few seconds and watched her.

Buffy looked up, "You have provided me with all my fav foods."

Angelus laughed, "I aim to please. I'll go get the fire started then you can sit and eat in front of the fireplace."

Buffy brought her plate of food over to the couch in front of the fireplace. She sat it down on the table. Angelus turned to her.

Angelus, "Tonight we just take it easy. Long drive and besides you look tired."

Buffy sighed as she bit into her chicken and swiss cheese sandwich. She ate quietly for a few minutes.

Buffy after taking a sip of her soda, "Yeah I had four tests today. Riley Finn hit on me again. I told him I had started seeing someone."

Angelus smirked, "I take it you mean me?"

Buffy giggled, "No a little gnome I met. Of course you silly. We are seeing each other right?"

Angelus felt warmth flood his cold heart, "Yes sweetheart we are."

Buffy sighed and sat back. She finished off her food. Angelus couldn't take his eyes off her the whole time. What was wrong with him? Angelus gave an inner sigh he knew. He was without meaning to falling in love Buffy Summers, Vampire Slayer.

Buffy watched Angelus closely. She watched the various emotions playing across his face. It made her wonder what he was thinking. One thing she was figuring out she could very easily be falling in love with him.

Part 20

Buffy was feeling sleepy after eating her sandwich. Angelus stood up and extended his hand to her.

Angelus with a smile, "Come let's go to bed. You need your rest."

Buffy took his hand as she stood, "I am sleepy even though I slept in the car."

Angelus led her down the hallway, "If you would prefer sleeping alone that is fine with me. There are two other bedrooms I can chose from to stay in."

Buffy stepped into the master suite and gasped. The bed was a huge king size with an elaborately carved headboard and footboard. A matching armoire with carvings like on the bed stood in one corner. A matching chest of drawers stood in another corner. Two side chairs were in front of a small fireplace. There was even a small step stool to use to get into bed.

The colors were a rich deep red and gold. With hints of a deep forest green and dark blue. A door led into a nice bath with a shower tucked into a corner, an oval tub in another with a sink and toilet against one wall.

Buffy turned to Angelus, "Please I don't mind if you stay. It might be kind of nice to curl up next to you. That is if I don't get lost in that bed."

Angelus chuckled, "Don't worry I know my way around that bed if I think you are lost I'll come looking for you. I'll leave you to get ready. I am going to go for a walk before I retire. I need to stretch my legs."

Buffy nodded, "Fine. I'll be here."

Angelus smiled, "I won't be long."

Angelus turned and left the room. Buffy sighed, she didn't want to think about what he might be doing on his walk. There were no bottles of blood in the fridge.

Buffy quickly unpacked her suitcase. She got the things she needed to get ready for bed and went into the bathroom. A little later she was climbing into bed. She did need the step stool. She had never seen such a huge bed before and it was so comfortable. Angelus believed in having the best it seemed. Buffy smiled as she thought that, and he wants me.

Angelus stepped out into the dark night. He need to get rid of excess energy. Quietly he slipped into the forest and let his animal instincts take over. He ran swiftly along familiar trails. Creatures of the night cowered away as he passed.

Angelus loved to run through the forest. To let his baser self out. In the modern world it was safer to rein in his natural instincts to hunt and kill humans. He had found it was safer to blend in with those around him. But he still kept his distance from humans as much as possible. Having money helped.

Angelus slowed down he could sense prey ahead. Slowly and deliberately he stalked the deer he could smell. A young female that should be tucked away somewhere asleep.

Angelus snarled softly. He spotted her near some fallen logs. With a swiftness that would have surprised Buffy Angelus was upon the deer. He sank his fangs deep into her neck and drank his fill. After feeding he dropped the now dead deer.

Angelus howled into the dark night sky like the wild thing he was at that moment. Having fed to his satisfaction he turned and ran back towards the cabin. A small pack of wolves came out from hiding they had a meal of their own now.

Back at the cabin Buffy heard the howl. She sat up in bed and looked around. It didn't seem all that close whatever it was. She would be glad when Angelus got back. When it became apparent that the night was again quiet Buffy lay back down.

Angelus silently entered the cabin. He looked in and saw that Buffy was asleep. He went into the bathroom and took a quick shower.

Afterwards he donned a pair of sweat pants and a T-shirt. Smiling he got into bed next to Buffy.

Angelus pulled her close. She sighed and snuggled up next to him. Going into a deeper sleep. Angelus lay there and held her until he too drifted off to sleep.

When Buffy woke up she found herself curled up against Angelus. She lay there watching him. No movement came from him. But he still did not look corpse like. It was eerie how still he was and yet still appear to be very much alive.

Angelus sensed that Buffy was awake and watching him. Slowly he opened his eyes and gave a small smile. Buffy gasped a little then giggled.

Buffy: "Sorry if I woke you."

Angelus shook his head, "You didn't really. I am a light sleeper after an hour or two of rest. I usually get up and take of my investments and businesses."

Buffy frowned, "How do you do that since you can't go out during the day?"

Angelus grinned, "Before computers I had to rely on humans mostly lawyers. Now with computers I do all I can on my own."

Buffy giggled, "Computers. So you know how to use one? That is so cool. Need to talk to Willow she can do lots on computers a real good little hacker when it's warranted."

Angelus laughed, "I think I will get with her. There are a few things I would like to know that so far has eluded me."

Buffy sighed and stretched, "Good. I want you two to get along she is my best friend. I hate to say it but I need to get up."

Angelus nodded and quickly got out of bed. He reached over and picked Buffy up. He gently carried her over near the bathroom door and set her down. Buffy giggled slightly.

Angelus laughing, "I will go fix you some breakfast."

Buffy sighed, "Oh good I am hungry."

Angelus shook his head, "When you are with child you will be an unstoppable eating machine."

Buffy smiled, "Think so?"

Angelus stood near the door of the bedroom, "I can predict it and without a crystal ball at that."

Buffy laughed as she went into the bathroom. Angelus shook his head and headed for the kitchen.

Part 21

Angelus looked up and smiled when Buffy entered the kitchen area. Buffy sniffed the air and grinned.

Buffy, "Smells great."

Angelus smiled, "Not much just a cheese and mushroom omelet and ham. If you want to put your english muffin in the toaster go ahead."

Buffy smiled, "No problem."

Angelus nodded, "If you want to eat out on the back deck go right ahead. The view is gorgeous in the afternoon so I imagine that in the morning it would be the same."

Buffy shrugged, "Are you sure?"

Angelus smiled, "Yes, just because I cannot enjoy the sun doesn't mean you shouldn't."

Buffy smiled, "Ok I think I will eat out there. It's been a while since I was in the mountains. So exactly where are we?"

Angelus gently slid the omelet onto a plate, "We are not too far from Bear Valley."

Buffy grinned, "Oh my daddy had a job where the boss had a large cabin there. We went and stayed a few times it was a lot of fun. I skied the one and only time there one winter."

Angelus laughed, "I take it that the experience was not a good one."

Buffy nodded, "I took out some small trees and several people and broke my leg and arm and banged my head up."

Angelus frowned, "Pretty serious."

Buffy sighed, "I healed quickly and the doctor was amazed she said most girls my age which was seven would have died or been paralyzed. I guess the Slayer part of me kicked in."

Angelus nodded, "Yeah."

He watched as Buffy stepped out into the sunshine. The sun shone off her blonde hair making it look like spun gold. Buffy turned and grinned.

Buffy: "Oh Angelus it is so beautiful out here."

Angelus smiled, "The view I have is also beautiful."

Buffy stepped inside and took the plate of food from Angelus, "Thank you."

Angelus shrugged, "Go enjoy the food and the view. Later we can use the hot tub."

Buffy smiled, "Ok. And the hot tub sounds great, but I didn't bring a swim suit."

Angelus smirked, "You don't need one."

After taking a hike Buffy entered the cabin. She found Angelus sitting on the sofa in front of the fireplace. Angelus looked up and smiled at her.

Angelus stood up, "In the afternoon I can go out on the back deck and sit or use the hot tub. Also the hot tub has a privacy screen so no one can see what is going on."

Buffy stood up, "Good. I guess I can go get ready."

Angelus smiled, "Just a robe."

Angelus shook his head, "You don't have to do this or anything if you don't want to."

Buffy smiled, "So what did you want to talk to me about?"

Angelus kissed the top of her head, "Us, our future family. I want us to go through a bonding ceremony."

Buffy frowned, "Bonding ceremony?"

Angelus nodded, "I guess you could call it a wedding ceremony but it's more. It's a very old rite between vampires or vampires and a human mate."

Buffy stared at him, "Oh it sounds interesting and a little scary."

Angelus smiled, "Don't worry nothing scary will happen. But we will need your Watcher's permission and your Mother's."

Buffy sighed, "Oh. I guess I'll have to tell them about us sooner than I thought."

Angelus frowned then chuckled, "So went looking for a vampire to make a baby with and didn't let your Watcher in on your plans."

Buffy nodded, "Yeah. Anya got me curious about babies and so my friends and I did some digging and found out about Slayers and vampires and babies."

Angelus smiled, "Well I am glad you got curious."

Buffy sighed, "Same here."

Part 26

Angelus and Buffy took it easy the rest of the night. Buffy found the t.v. and dvd player. She was amazed at the variety of dvds that Angelus had.

Buffy was watching Legally Blonde when Angelus walked in and handed her a huge bowl of popcorn.

Buffy smiled at him, "Oh thank you. You have quite a collection of movies."

Angelus shrugged, "Some came with the dvd unit. It was a package deal I ordered over the Internet."

Buffy laughed, "Good I was wondering if you had a thing for Reece Witherspoon there are two more movies with her in them."

Angelus laughed, "Oh is that who she is rather pretty."

Buffy smiled, "Yep and married and has a baby."

Angelus shook his head, "Looks rather young."

Buffy shrugged, "A little older than me."

Angelus watched the movie for a little bit, "Tomorrow we will leave at sunset and have dinner at a small restaurant in the town nearby then head home does that sound ok?"

Buffy sighed, "I guess. I have really liked it here this weekend."

Angelus smiled, "We'll be back."

Buffy curled up next to him, "Good."

They sat quietly watching the rest of the movie. Buffy fell asleep at one point. Angelus smiled and gently picked her up and carried her to bed.

Angelus quickly went and got her suitcase. Willow watched as Angelus placed it on the floor near the closet. She smiled when he bent over Buffy and gave her a light kiss on the forehead.

Angelus turned to Willow, "I'll call tomorrow afternoon. Take care and good night.

Willow nodded, "I'll let her know and night."

She closed the door behind Angelus. She glanced over at Buffy and smiled.

Angelus got in his car and headed for the mansion.

As she was walking out of class Riley Finn stopped her, "Look I don't like that you sent your boyfriend's goons after me."

Buffy actually looked at Riley. He had a black eye and a few other bruises were visible.

Buffy frowned, "Riley I was away for the weekend with my boyfriend. I didn't send any goons after you. If he did I hope you got the message to leave me alone."

Riley shook his head, "A weekend away with a guy. I thought you had better sense than that. Don't worry I won't bother you again."

Buffy smiled as Riley turned and fled back into the classroom. Willow who was standing there smiled.

Willow: "Poor thing. I sort of know what happened Spike told me and Tara a little bit."

Buffy sighed, "Angelus wants me to be his mate. I get the feeling that means I'll belong to him. But to be honest I don't care. He made me feel so wanted and loved and special."

Willow nodded, "Yeah he was real sweet and gentle with you last night when he carried you inside and put you in bed."

Buffy grinned, "He'd hate for this to get around but deep down he's a real sweetie."

Willow laughed, "Oh yeah the Scourge of Europe a real sweetie."

Later Buffy was trying not to stare at the phone. She kept trying to read her homework assignment. The phone finally rang. She quickly picked it up.

Buffy hopefully, "Is it you?"

Angelus with a slight hitch, "Yes baby it's me. So how was your day?"

Buffy sighed, "I missed you. It was ok. Nice black eye Riley is sporting."

Angelus took an unneeded breath, "Are you mad at me? I mean I could of had him killed."

Buffy giggled, "Not mad. And well alive is good."

Angelus laughed, "Ok. Look I want to meet your Mother and Watcher make the arrangements. I think Mr. Giles is who we should speak to first. He could help us with your Mother."

Buffy sighed, "Ok I will. Umm am I going to see you tonight?"

Angelus sighed, "Sorry baby I have a few things to take care of. Spend the night with your friends and have some fun. Tomorrow night dinner and then after the meeting with Mr. Giles."

Buffy huffed a little, "Ok. I'd have more fun with you. And I will talk to Giles and tell him I need to meet with him."

Angelus laughed a little, "I would rather be with you too. But soon we shall be spending more time together. I need to get this place in better shape before I move you in."

Buffy smiled, "Oh making plans for us to live together. I like the sound of that."

Angelus sighed, "Same here. Look sweetheart Spike just walked in. I need to go and meet with my lawyer he also just got here. I will try and call you later."

Buffy sighed, "Ok. Later bye."

Angelus sighing also, "Bye baby."

Buffy hung up the phone. Willow glanced up from her book, "So not seeing him tonight?"

Buffy shook her head, "No he has things to do and his lawyer is in town."

Willow smiled, "Come on let's go grab a bite and find the others."

Buffy shrugged, "Sure why not."

They grabbed their jackets and left the dorm.

Part 28

Buffy watched as her friends danced. Xander and Anya were at the college hang out when they got there. Cordelia and Doyle arrived soon after they did. A few guys asked Buffy to dance she just smiled at them and turned them down.

After a little while they all left and went over to Xander's apartment. Buffy curled up in her favorite chair there a huge red bean bag. Doyle watched her closely. He stood up and went into the kitchen and grabbed a beer out of the fridge.

Upon returning to the living room Doyle smiled, "So Buffy you went away for the weekend, have a good time?"

Buffy smiled, "Yeah I did. Very restful."

Doyle nodded, "Getting rested up so you can face Angelus when the time comes to fight him."

Buffy nearly jumped out of the chair, "Angelus what about him?"

Cordelia went over to Doyle, "Hey guess what I got my new Victoria's Secret catalog today."

Doyle shook his head, "Don't Cordy. Look Buffy what the hell is going on? I saw you sitting in a diner the other night talking to Angelus and it seemed as if the two of you were very friendly. Also ever since he has come to town the vamps have either left or started acting down right nice. No vamp attacks nothing. Word has it that Angelus gave orders that nothing was to happen to you, your friends and family."

Buffy glanced at her co conspirators and sighed, "Guess the gigs up."

Cordelia nodded, "Yeah."

Buffy stood up, "Now no freaking out. Giles told me Slayer's can't have babies. Anya said she thought that was false so we went looking and it seems Slayers can have babies but only with a Master Vampire."

Xander stared in shock at Buffy, "So you just called this Angelus up and said hey let's make a baby?"

Buffy giggled, "Not quite. But he is the vampire I have chosen to be the Father and he is quite pleased by the whole idea."

Xander shook his head, "I have a feeling Giles has no idea of what you have been up to."

Buffy sighed, "No but tomorrow night Angelus wants to meet with him and tell him. You see he wants to do a bonding ceremony with me."

Doyle and Anya both gasped. Anya stood up, "My goodness. Buffy that is a very old rite. It's a bond that cannot be broken. You will belong to Angelus and he in turn will belong to you."

Buffy smiled, "I kind of figured that. I spent the weekend with him and despite his reputation he is an all right kind of guy. I honestly think I may be falling in love with him."

Xander coughed, "WHAT!!!!!! BUFFY HE'S A VAMPIRE!!!!!!!!"

Buffy smiled, "I know Xander. He told me he has the same feelings for me."

Xander shook his head, "Well what if we decide to stop you. You know run him out of town or maybe even stake him."

Buffy went over to Xander and grabbed him by the collar. In a deadly voice, "You harm one hair on his head or do anything to him you will pay dearly. Got that Xander?"

Xander gasped for air when Buffy released him, "Yeah got it. Go ahead and ruin your life. I think you are making a huge mistake. Now why don't you leave and oh Buffy I will never ever invite him into my house."

Buffy grabbed her coat, "Fine be that way. You won't even give him a chance. Is it cause he's a vampire or is it cause you still got that crush on me you had in high school?"

Buffy opened the door and left. Willow and Tara hurried after her. Doyle sighed as he watched Cordelia gather her things.

Doyle: "Look Xander truth be told Buffy mating with Angelus will be a good thing it'll make him behave. He has a rep I know but that was in Europe over a hundred years ago. Now he keeps a low profile and is quite wealthy owns quite a few businesses. He doesn't want any trouble."

Cordelia took Doyle's arm, "Come on let's go."

Doyle let Cordelia lead him out of the apartment. Anya folded her arms and stared at Xander after their friends had all left.

Anya, "Doyle is right. And I think so is Buffy. Until you can behave I think that we will call a halt to wedding plans. You need to figure out what you want. Now if you'll excuse me I am going home. Oh and Xander remember I know all the vengeance demons still in business so heed Buffy's advice about not harming Angelus. Good night."

Anya slammed the door behind her. Xander sighed and went and sat down.

Part 28

Angelus walked around the old mansion giving orders. The painters, repairmen and others were running around doing their best to please him. Spike stood there shaking his head. In all the decades he'd know Angelus he'd never seen him so worked up over anything.

Angelus wanted the place to be perfect when he brought Buffy home. Today he was having a huge bathtub/Jacuzzi installed in the master suite. Angelus watched closely as the tile layer applied the tiles he'd picked out for the master bath.

Angelus next went and checked on the men in the kitchen. He almost laughed Spike was there supervising the installation of the new fridge, stove and oven. Spike turned and smiled at Angelus.

Spike: "Gotta make sure they get things right in here. Nothing is more important that food."

Angelus smirked, "Oh really?"

Spike grinned, "Hey even more so than nookie trust me. Without food who has the energy to do other things?"

Angelus shook his head and walked away. He went into the library/office and shut the door. It was the one place that he wasn't having renovated. Angelus picked up the copies of papers he had his lawyer draw up. A will leaving most of everything he owned to Buffy. Papers giving Buffy rights to certain businesses as his partner. Also a bank account for Buffy had been set up along with several credit cards.

Chuckling softly Angelus recalled the look of shock on Lindsey's face when he told him he had found a mate. A human one at that and a Slayer. Angelus looked through the papers making Joyce the owner of the building that housed her art gallery. Buffy was going to be his wife so that meant her family became his responsibility.

Angelus put the papers away in the safe he had installed when he moved in. Standing Angelus went back out into the rest of the mansion. Walking around he checked on the work. He was pleased. Angelus went up to a bedroom he'd chosen to stay in while the master suite was being renovated. He needed his rest.

Part 30

The next evening Angelus picked Buffy up at her dorm. He'd called earlier and told her to be ready. Nothing fancy just a simple dinner then the meeting with Giles.

Buffy smiled at Angelus as helped her into the car, "I missed you."

Angelus smiled, "I missed you to sweetheart." He shut the door and went over to his side and got in.

Buffy was fiddling with the hem of her blouse. Angelus frowned he sensed that she had something to tell him.

Angelus: "So what's bothering you?"

Buffy shrugged, "Oh they guys know. Doyle saw us together. Xander had a fit which is nothing new. Anya will get him under control. Also umm don't get too mad at me but since this is the first meeting with Giles I thought it would be best if we didn't go to his place. So we will go over to Cordelia's after dinner. There is a guest house in the back we will meet with him there."

Angelus smiled, "That's fine. This way I don't have to stand and explain why I am there on his doorstep."

Buffy nodded, "Yep and also no weapons. He has all kinds at his place."

Angelus chuckled, "Now that is a plus."

Later after dinner. Angelus pulled up in front of the Chase home.

Buffy led him to the house in back. Tapping softly Buffy stepped inside. She smiled Giles was there along with Cordelia and Doyle. Cordelia went over and smiled at Buffy and Angelus.

Opening the door even further, "Please come on in we have been waiting."

Slowly Angelus stepped into the room. Thankfully Cordelia's greeting was enough to get him in. Giles stood up with a frown there was something familiar about the man with Buffy.

Taking a deep breath Buffy greeted Giles, "Giles please take a seat we are about to have a very serious discussion."

Giles frowned and sat down, "Oh we are. Does it involve the I assume vampire who is with you?"

Buffy sighed, "Yes. Umm ok here goes. I know you didn't tell me the truth about Slayers having babies. I found out the truth."

Giles stared at her, "My God Buffy a child is the last thing you need."

Buffy shook her head, "No. I am almost twenty-one. I want to have a family. I want there to be more to my life than just fighting and demons and things like that."

Giles huffed, "Having a vampire lover just to have a child is wrong."

Buffy shook her head, "It's more than just that."

Giles sighed, "So introduce me to the Father to be."

Buffy took another deep breath, "This is Angelus."

Giles thought he just might faint. Now he knew where he'd seen him before or at least drawings of him. Of all the vampires to chose from it had to be this particular vampire.

Angelus smiled, "Mr. Giles. I am all for Buffy and I having a family together. I mean no harm to her, her family or friends. My reputation is such that I know it worries you. But I can assure you that most of that is in the past. I have spent time with her and to be honest with you I have fallen in love with her."

Giles stared at Angelus, "Love are you actually capable of such a thing?"

Angelus nodded, "Until I met Buffy I doubted that love existed. But with her I can and do feel love that is the only way to explain the way she makes me feel and act."

Giles nodded, "I have my doubts. Sorry but I do."

Angelus shrugged, "Will the fact that I have made a will making Buffy my heir help or the fact that I have made her my partner in some of my businesses and also I have set up a bank account for her along with credit cards help your doubts?"

Buffy stared at Angelus, "You did that. Is that why your lawyer was in town?"

Angelus nodded, "One of the main reasons yes. I plan on taking care of you and your family."

Buffy smiled, "Oh. Wow....Umm thanks."

Giles stood and paced. He took off his glasses and polished them with his handkerchief, "Angelus harm Buffy in any way go back on your promise to not harm her and I will personally take care of you."

Angelus nodded, "I understand.....Ripper."

Giles gave a startled look then a slight wicked smile, "Ah so we do understand each other."

Angelus smiled, "Yes we do. Now on to what I want to do. I want to do the bonding ceremony with Buffy. I wish to make her my mate."

Giles glanced at Buffy, "Is this what you want?"

Buffy smiled, "It is. I know sort of what it means."

Giles nodded, "Yes well, when?"

Angelus shrugged, "The next full moon in two weeks. That will give us plenty of time to prepare."

Giles sighed, "Fine."

Angelus nodded, "Good. Now we need you to help us explain all of this to her Mother. And soon."

Giles smiled, "I will. You think I am tough just wait."

Angelus chuckled, "I know."

Angelus turned to Buffy, "Would you want to stay and visit some more or would you like for me to take you back to the dorm?"

Buffy frowned, "Dorm but only if you come in for a little bit."

Angelus smiled, "I will."

Buffy went over to Giles and gave him a quick hug, "Thanks for not being a real s.o.b about this. I too have fallen in love with Angelus. He makes me feel special."

Giles sighed, "At least you chose one with class and wealth. One who will take care of you. Just be for warned the Watcher's Council will be outraged to say the least."

Buffy sighed, "I am well aware of that."

Angelus spoke up, "I will see to it that they shall not cause us problems. Them or anyone else for that matter."

Buffy went over to Angelus, "I am ready to go."

Angelus smiled, "Fine." He turned to Giles, "I will be in touch."

Giles nodded, "Good. Take care of her."

Angelus looked at Buffy and smiled, "No problem."

Buffy turned to Cordelia, "Thanks for letting us meet here."

Cordelia shrugged, "What are friends for?"

Angelus and Buffy bade them all good night and left. Giles turned to Cordelia and Doyle with a frown.

Giles: "There is going to be trouble ahead for all of us. But I can tell that they are both determined to go through with it. Well, I will wish the two of you a good night."

Doyle sighed, "Like you said at least she picked Angelus. With him she shall be safe. He'll look after her."

Cordelia smiled, "Yeah. So night Giles."

Giles left then and went to his car. Getting in he sighed. The little prophecy his Grandmother had told him about was coming true.

Part 31

Joyce Summers sat stunned at what she had been told. She knew that Buffy was a vampire slayer. That had been explained to her a couple years back.

Buffy and Giles had led her to believe that vampires were evil and not to be trusted. Now here she was being told that this handsome and charming man was a vampire. And not just any vampire but an older, master vampire.

Staring at Buffy she also found it hard to believe that Buffy intended on marrying this vampire.

Joyce sighed several times, "So Mr. Giles you approve of this union?"

Giles shrugged, "I would say yes simply because as much as I find it rather hard to accept it is for the best. They do care for each other and are quite sincere about making this commitment."

Angelus smiled at Joyce, "I can promise you that I shall take very good care of Buffy."

Joyce smiled a little, "Yes I believe you will. Now I have a few questions. Right now Buffy is young and pretty and will be for several years. But what happens when she is older and the wrinkles set in. The gray hair takes over and her body changes?"

Angelus glanced over at Buffy and Giles, "The wedding between us is a bonding ceremony. We shall be bound as one. As long as I live, Buffy shall live. She will benefit from this bonding by not aging she will always be the way she is today. She will not suffer any illness. As a Slayer she already has the ability to heal quickly when hurt this will be even stronger."

Joyce gasped, "And what do you get from this bonding?"

Angelus smiled, "I get a mate. Someone to spend my time with. Some to love and take care of. Someone to take care of me. I too shall feel the effects of the bonding. I will feel her pain when she is hurt. I will know her emotions. This is not a one way thing."

Joyce sighed, "Well then if the two of you are insisting on this bonding then I shall give you my blessings."

Angelus smiled, "Thank you very much."

Buffy smiled, "Thank you Mom it means so much to me to have your approval."

Angelus reached into his coat pocket and took out some papers, "As a token of my thanks and as is traditional I am to give you a gift. Here is the deed on the building that your store is in."

Joyce gasped as she took the papers and looked them over, "This is...I don't know what to say."

Buffy grinned, "Mom say thank you."

Joyce shrugged and smiled, "I guess so. Thank you Angelus."

Angelus sighed, "Now let us all go out to dinner as a celebration."

Joyce stood up, "That sounds fine with me."

Angelus led Buffy and her Mother from the house. Mr. Giles shut the door making sure it was locked.

Part 32

Buffy and Willow had the day off from classes. They were sitting in their dorm room with Cordelia, Anya and Tara. Knocking on the door got their attention. Cordelia went and answered the door. Several men were standing there with packages.

"We are looking for a Buffy Summers is she here?"

Buffy stood up, "That's me. How can I help?"

"These are from Angelus."

Buffy stared, "Huh? Oh sure um bring them in." It took several minutes for everything to be brought in the dorm room. After everything was in place one of the men handed Buffy an envelope.

Buffy looked around the now very crowded dorm room. She opened the envelope and read the contents.

{Buffy my Love:

All of this is for you. In specially marked packages are a few things you will need for the night of our wedding. Since Willow and Tara are witches and you have Anya also they shall be able to help you out with the instructions. I shall not be able to see you until the night of our wedding. It is not my choice but that is just one of the rules of the ritual. I can talk to Willow or Tara but not to you. So anything you need to know tell them. We have ten days until we are to be bonded and they will be long and lonely without you. Until then my love enjoy your gifts.

Buffy sighed, "Ten days without seeing him. Oh they will be the longest days of my life I swear."

Cordelia shook her head, "Well yeah so let's see what he sent you."

Buffy eyed the packages and grinned, "Yeah so where to start?"

Willow picked up a package, "Hmm this one says {Something to keep you warm.}"

Buffy opened it carefully, "Oh." She sighed as she pulled out a gorgeous black, calf length leather coat. She pulled it on. A perfect fit. The leather was so soft and the lining was a deep burgundy silk.

Cordelia groaned, "Oh Buffy that is to die for."

Buffy took the coat off. Anya hung it up in the closet. Buffy opened another package that said {To carry your personal belongings}. A black leather tote bag large enough for make up and other things was in it.

Next Buffy picked up a package {Just some pretty things to wear}. Inside Buffy found several blouses, T-shirts like she liked and a few tank tops. Cordelia looked at the labels and sighed.

Cordelia: "He sure knows what to buy."

Willow was reading one package, "Oh this is to prepare you for the wedding. It has herbs and stuff to make a special bath salt of purification. So I guess this is a package for us witches."

Tara looked at the ingredients, "Oh I love making bath salts this will be so much fun."

Another package had the note {The gown you are to wear should be made from this material by your own hands}. Buffy groaned as she read that.

Buffy: "I don't know how to sew."

Willow smiled, "Your Mother does she can show you what to do. I bet there is instructions or a pattern included."

Buffy grinned, "That's right. Better call her since I only have ten days."

The rest of the packages contain more clothes. Skirts, pants, and more blouses. One package held more cleansing herbs for the baths Buffy was to take. A different herb bath for the next nine days.

Buffy sighed, "I think I will be staying with my Mom since she has a tub and the dorm doesn't."

Buffy picked up the phone and called her Mother. She gave a brief explanation before hanging up. She turned to her friends and sighed.

Buffy looking around, "Ok Cordelia you have your car right?" Cordelia nodded, "Yep, so I guess we load everything up in my car and head over to your Mom's?"

Buffy nodded, "That's the plan. Mom is actually quite excited about the whole thing now. Angelus managed to obtain some very nice art for her gallery. He is winning her over with all his charm."

Anya smiled, "I am so glad you ended up with Angelus. He was actually my choice but didn't want to say anything. I have my car too so we can use it to take what Cordelia's won't."

A few hours later they had moved everything to the Summers' house. Joyce was reading the instructions for the wedding gown. She was smiling it was just a simple gown and Angelus had the good sense to include such detailed instructions. The material was the finest of soft cotton. Lace from Ireland to adorn it was included.

That night after her first herbal bath in lavender Buffy sat with her Mom. She was very carefully cutting the material for the gown. Joyce watched every move she made. Buffy was suddenly sure of what she was doing. She smiled as she thought that she was making her own wedding dress. It wasn't something she had thought of when growing up. But she never dreamed she'd be marrying a master vampire at midnight in a circle of magic either.
