My photography has been an integral part of my art for years and sometimes the line between my photography and my art blurs almost to the point of disappearing. Many of my photographs are edited in Adobe Photoshop to enhance or to expand the ideas I had for the photo originally. I like to experiment with my photography and am constantly trying new things with it. Sometimes successfully and sometimes not but, I learn from each failure. Working in digital allows me to try many different things with the photograph without the expense of processing and printing. Once I have the photograph where I feel I have achieved the effect I was after I will print it out on high quality photo paper and am able to see the results in minutes. I have been very satisfied with the results so far and am constantly branching out into other photographic styles and trying something entirely different. By doing this I feel that I am growing both as a photographer and as an artist. Since August of 2004 I have been the photographer for the Hancock Fire Department. I go on each run and photograph the wrecks or fires or whatever we have. Since doing this I have been published in three different magazines and have even gotten on the cover of Maryland Dispatch, a fire department related magazine. Most recently I photographed the burning of a 100 year old log cabin that was in very poor condition and had to be torn down for safety reasons. We used the opportunity to get in some training exercises. Below are some of the photographs I took at that event.
