| 110 kg and from the same mould as Jonah Lomu , 19 year old giant winger Manu Vatuvei has signed a 3 year contract with the Warriors. Vinnie's exit opened the door for Vatuvei who debuted with a handful of starts for the Warriors in 2004. An exciting prospect coach TK describes him as " the fastest player in the club. He can carry a lot of of weight at extreme speed." |
| In a messy twist the Warriors have released centre Vinnie Anderson. Following his return from the Kiwis 2004 UK tour a constant groin injury restricted his ability to hit up the relentless training regime while his teammates were doing the hard yards. Destined for the second row he faced stiff competition from mates who's were training the house down.
With 55 NRL matches since debut with Warriors in 2002 he sought leave from training 2 weeks ago after his upgraded pay demands on his final year were rejected. He never returned. The Warriors set up a deal for him with the Bradford Bulls but he opted for 3 years with the London Broncos where he joins former Warriors Thomas Leuluai and Mark Tookey. 12 March Vinnie has since signed with St Helens for 3 years |

| After 11 seasons the Warriors' longest serving star, Stacey Jones (28), will leave the club at the end of the season. The 28-year-old halfback will join the French club UTC who debut in the English Super League competition in 2006. A New Zealand sporting hero Stacey Jones made a try-scoring first grade debut against Parramatta on April 23, 1995. He holds a host of Warriors club records which include, a record 221appearances, the most tries (72), most points (563), most field goals (11) and most consecutive appearances (101). The 2002 Golden Boot winner said he was extremely proud to be a Warrior, " I asked the club to bring this announcement forward so I can get on with putting all my efforts into playing my best football for the Warriors. I love the Warriors and I always will. I'm a life member and I'm really proud of that after being here since the club started in 1995." |

10 players earned the MVP for their efforts in digging the deepest to give that something extra for themselves and the team, when there was no more to give. Voted for by the webmaster the Most Valuable Player award was for the player who stood out in the close games where very little separates the very best of the best from the best of the rest. Stacey Jone's star shone the brightest of this years crop, earning the MVP with match winning performance 5 times in 2005. He was followed by consistent performers Nathan Fien 4 times in his first year at the Warriors, Sione Faumuina (3) and Lance Hohaia (3). |

| Steve Price has gained State of Origin selection for Queensland. After an outstanding start to the Warriors 2005 season the 31-year-old props up with Petero Civoniceva for this year's opening match against NSW at Suncorp Stadium Bribane on Wednesday May 25. Price is the third Warrior selected for Queensland after Kevin Campion (01-02) and P J Marsh (02-03). |

| Steve Price turned in a massive Man of the Match game in the 1st State of Origin which saw Queensland nail a nerve wracking 24-20 win over the Blues. Up 19-0 at halftime Qld allowed the Blues to storm back to 20-19 a minute from fulltime. Then half Jonathon Thurston landed a drop goal to lock it up 20-20. In extra time Bowen collected an intercept off Brett Kimmorley's flat pass to nail the winning try before 52,484 fans. Price partners up front with Warriors Wiki and Hohaia at hooker for Sundays home clash with the Wests Tigers. |

The team is still a big draw card in Australia with a crowd average of 19,000 turning up to see the Warriors across the Tasman since 1998. |
