The Skyblues Band is currently featuring Davey Blue on lead vocals and guitar, adding a fresh, youthful edge to our sound. Dave grew up surrounded by music, enduring Skyblues Band practices in his basement since he was nine years old. He played drums with his family, at church and at school, before picking up the guitar. He got his first electric, a Hamer, during the 1998 Fargo Blues Fest, which he was attending with Michael & Bill.
He started appearing on stage with the Skyblues Band when he was 14, and laid down the guitar solo for the tune "If I Leave This World Tomorrow" on the "Diminished Reality" CD, a lead at which he now cringes. Since then, he's worked to improve both his guitar playing and singing. The results speak for themselves. He commands the stage like a seasoned performer, leading his experienced bandmates through the variety of music our fans have come to expect over the years. In addition to fronting the Skyblues Band, Dave is the drummer for The Jonesers, a local classic rock band comprised of members, well, a little closer to his age.
