Sakuya Kumashiro is the same age as Tenchi. She has silky black hair and emerald green eyes. Sakuya has many friends, being the most popular girl in school and all. Although she is very welcome in school, she's not welcome in Tenchi's house at all. In one of the earlier episodes of "Tenchi in Tokyo", Ayeka and Ryoko come to visit Tenchi. To their surprise, Tenchi is outside holding Sakuya in his arms (Sakuya tripped and Tenchi grabbed her). In a later episode, during the celebration of the girl's and Tenchi's year anniversary, the girl's plus Tenchi's crystals have been stolen! Sakuya comes over to visit Tenchi, and Ryoko and Ayeka are criticizing Sakuya for stealing the crystals! Ryoko rips through Sakuya's belongings and they go flying to the ground. While Ryoko is looking for the crystals and going on and on, Sakuya with her head to the ground, picks up her belongings. Just before Ryoko hits Sakuya, Tenchi dashes in front of Sakuya and firmly tells Ryoko that Sakuya would never steal anything. Ryoko is very sad that Tenchi wouldn't be on her side instead Sakuya's. With that, Ryoko flew away. That isn't the end of that episode though. (It was really an evil monkey thing that stole the crystals).
Sakuya Kumashiro is very emotional and tends to take things the wrong way. Although there are many bad things that happen to Sakuya, good things happen too. Like the time(s) when Tenchi and Sakuya have dramatic kisses. *Mua!*
In the last few episodes of "Tenchi in Tokyo", Tenchi figures out that Sakuya is Yugi's (a very evil little girl) shadow. Tenchi visits Sakuya for one last kiss and then he goes to fight Yugi. Yugi cries and Tenchi refuses to hurt Yugi even though Yugi tricked Tenchi and he would never see Sakuya again. Yugi is then put into a deep sleep and every day Sasami gives her a report on what happens.
