Susan and I started riding bikes again in the fall of 1996. We had gone to Fripp Island for a long weekend. While there we rented a couple of fixed gear beach cruisers. Neither of us had ridden since our youth, and we had forgotten all the fun a bike could bring. Upon returning home we decide to give each other a bike for Christmas, and that started it all. Five bikes later, three VBT bike tours, three self supported tours, and too many day trips to mention we are still pedaling. Along the way we even managed to quit smoking. We have ridden our bikes in the beauty of the Arcadia National Park in Maine, and our tandem through a tropical storm on the Outer Banks of North Carolina while pulling our BOB trailer. While biking is not all we are, it has certainly given us a lot of great memories, and the promise of many more.
