Beware Of Deceptive & Unprofessional Product Presentations

There are certain elements about a line that can give you some incite into whether a company is trying to be honest about its products and legitimately offer effective formulas to the public, and which are just in it to make as much money as possible in as short of time as possible.  One thing all consumers should demand in their products is a reasonable size for the price.  For the eye area a 0.5 fluid ounce product should last at least 2 months, and for the rest of the face a 1.7 to 2 fluid ounce product should last for at least the same duration.
While most companies offer eye area products that come in the 0.5 fluid ounce size, this is not often true with face formulas.  It has been a growing trend for skin care companies to only offer 1 fluid ounce sized products meant for the face.  This size typically lasts a person about a month before needing to purchase more.  This isnt such a burden if the products are inexpensive, but if its a higher end product that can go for $100 a bottle its not economically feasible for most individuals to pay that kind of money every single month.  Companies retail face products in the 1 fluid ounce size because they know that people look more at the total product price than the fluid ounce size, so this is more or less a deceptive way of being able to charge a premium price but only providing half the appropriate size.  Its strongly suggested that you look for products that come in at least 0.5 fluid ounce sizes for the eye area and 1.7 to 2 fluid ounce sizes for the face.
Also beware of unprofessional presentations of products, especially do-it-yourself looking websites.  These are strong indications that the company is something of a garage sale skin care line.  Usually such companies are comprised of lone individuals selling homemade products to the public via an amateur website or mall kiosk.  While they could have very effective products and be run by very knowledgeable formulators just without a big marketing budget, they could also just be amateurs getting their feet wet in the business.  This means that there is a much higher risk that the formulations could be very unstable or inadequately preserved.  If this is the case it can mean disastrous results for your skin.  Two prime examples of these kinds of companies are www.seattleskincare.com and www.cosmetics.com.
