Hydroderm claims to be the first formula on the market that can deliver whole collagen molecules into the skin deeply enough to enhance the collagen matrix in the dermis. If this is true, then it would be a first in the skin care industry since collagen is a very large molecule that has never been able to penetrate through the epidermis into the dermis before. How Hydroderm does this they do not exactly specify past saying that their products use a new technology to get the skin to "open up" and carry the whole collagen compound inside. This seems rather dubious since a breakthrough such as this should have copious amounts of clinical research behind it.
Almost all the reviews submitted for this line have reported no significant anti-aging effects after at least one month of use. This was expected seeing as to date there has been no proven way to get whole collagen molecules into the skin without an injection, and while there are some ingredients that can cause pore dilation (i.e. get pores to "open up"), the collagen molecule is so large that it would need much more than this to penetrate into the dermis.
On their homepage they claim you can get a free sample of Hydroderm products but this enrolls you in a reoccurring billing program if you don�t return it within 14 days. This should be a red flag to the customer since often times companies offering programs like this are operating in an underhanded manner and count on you forgetting to return the product. Many people have reported that the terms and conditions on this program have changed a number of times, including having conflicting statements depending on what part of the site is visited versus the terms and conditions of the enrollment spelled out in their confirmation email. Many reviewers have said they have had great difficulty contacting customer service for this company and obtaining a refund even when following the return policy guidelines.
