More Churches of Freethought!

The pioneering concept originated in North Texas by NTCOF is spreading across the globe! Other far-sighted, dedicated and enthusiastic Freethinkers in other towns have taken steps to establish or explore the idea of a Church of Freethought in their part of the world, and we are proud to list them here:

The Houston Church of Freethought -- Texas is now home to TWO full-fledged Churches of Freethought with the inauguration on March 12, 2000 of The Houston Church of Freethought. Founded by five longtime Freethinkers and modeled after the success and growth of NTCOF, HCOF holds their Sunday Services on the second Sunday of each month, starting at 10:30 AM sharp, at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Houston. See their Web site for full details!

Worth area, leave your name and address and we will mail our informational brochures to you via surface mail.

NTCOF Teens Yahoo! Group

Many young Freethinkers in Texas face enormous pressure from their peers to conform to the illogic and unreason of belief in talking snakes and talking bushes...and it is extremely difficult for them to connect to other young atheists for mutual support and friendships.

We're trying to help change all that by inviting all young Freethinkers to join the NTCOF Teens Yahoo! Group. Click here to join on the Web or send any e-mail message to [email protected].

NTCOF Women Yahoo! Group

The NTCOF Women Yahoo! Group was established to provide a discussion forum for the women and female friends of the North Texas Church of Freethought. The purpose of the list is general discussion, but from a feminine perspective.

NTCOF Women is unmoderated but requires subscription approval. Subscription is limited to women only. To join, send any e-mail to [email protected] or join on the Web.

Freethought Resources on the Web

  • Freethought books: Amazon.com's vast selection of Freethought titles can help any Freethinker become better informed on the history, foundation and future of our philosophy, and by using the above link to buy your books from Amazon.com, you'll help NTCOF with a pass-through commission while still saving off the cover price of your chosen titles! Click here to explore the world of Freethought literature, and help NTCOF at the same time! Thanks!

  • The Freethought Web / The Internet Infidels : Unquestionably the Web's best and largest single depository for Freethought information, resources, literature, and hundreds of additional links. Find a local group in your town, check the Freethought book list, read some great articles on atheism from some of the world's best writers on the subject, or snoop through the great archives of great Freethought writing from generations past. It's all on the Infidel's Web site, and much more!

  • The Campus Freethought Alliance: News and updates, plus freethought essays, opinions, stories, poems, jokes, letters, quotes - everything but rants! A blend of good activism and good writing! ELECTRONIC VERSION: 4-5 e-mails per month, including a newsletter, monthly calendar, press releases and news bits. To subscribe, write: [email protected].

  • Looking for a local Freethought organization in your town? Check here for a very good listing of local and national Freethought and atheist organizations compiled by the Internet Infidels.

  • The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Many atheists became so after reading, really reading, the bible--all of it. Few believers have done so, and those that have conveniently try to ignore all the horrors, inconsistencies, contradictions and outright absurdity it has so plainly written in its pages. This site is a comprehensive annotation of that tiresome old book, with extensive references to all the naughty, illogical, inconsistent, horrific and plain evil passages.

  • Usenet Alt.Atheism Newsgroup : Godless heathens, and a very poor signal-to-noise ratio due to all the clueless god-believers, trolls, spammers and other bandwidth-suckers. Great FAQ files, though!

  • What do Andy Rooney, Carrie Fisher, Paula Poundstone, Katharine Hepburn, and Penn Jillette all have in comon? Visit Jim Lippard's terrific Celebrity Atheists Page and find out!
  • Mark Gilbert maintains this excellent list of Famous Dead Non-Theists.

  • Usenet Alt.Atheism.Moderated Newsgroup - Moderated godless heathens, and therefore a much better use of the bandwidth.

  • Usenet Talk.Origins Newsgroup - Creation/Evolution debated ad infinitum. Be sure to download the FAQs before posting!
