Reflection: I incorperated technology into lessons at any point that I found apporpriate. I found that students enjoyed seeing how to use computers and the internet in art classrooms. Two lessons in particular, stand out as lessons that the students really enjoyed. With kindergarten, I read a story to the students that I projected onto the board from an internet site I found. The students recognized the computer and the internet, but as soon as I projected the images onto the board, I was "magic"! With the eighth grade lesson, I was less magic. Students had to research an artist of their choosing on the internet. They were given one class period to spend in the computer lab while I observed and monitored their work. |

10.2 List/use school television resources that support the content and grade level curriculum. |

Reflection:Every morning, the eighth grade students put on "The Morning Show." This program is broadcast throughout the school. It starts with the Pledge of Allegiance and the playing of the National Anthem. It is followed by the morning anouncements, weather, and a trivial question. I try and have this program on every morning to stay on top of what is going on at the school as well as taking part of the technology that is used on a daily basis at CVS. Another way I would incorporate television resources, would be to tape television programs on artists or art pieces. Many programs that I particularly enjoy is PBS's Art 21 series. This is a series on contemporary artists and how they affect their environment. |

Reflection: I use any and EVERY resource I can find to help me in my teaching. I think it is very important to not "re-create the wheel" whenever possible. I have found many websites that help me. A few of them are listed below. Another resource that I have become reliant upon, is our school Librarian, Pat Dunford. She has become an AMAZING help to me. She has helped me find DVDs, videos, books, and about any other resource I could need. Textbooks found in the classroom are also very helpful. |

Reflection: Books and print are a very helpful resource in the art room because students can learn and see what other artists have done. It also gives students a reference. For example, with the fourth grade Found Object Animal sculptures, I had a large variety of animal books for students to use when working on their sketches. I also had a DVD ready for the fifth grade on M.C. Esher and his tesselations. This would have been made available if students had finished their lesson early. |
